And so this talk is inspired by black love,
Our black love in particular.
So my husband and I,
We met each other in 2012.
And so we were really good friends up until 2023,
When we got married.
I finally stopped running,
Right?
And so that is the purpose of today's talk.
I want to talk about being led from a space of freedom,
From a space of safety,
From a space of vulnerability.
A lot of people don't get to hear the behind the scenes and like the real and the raw,
But I want you to be awarded that opportunity today.
So for a long time,
I didn't see myself being married.
I didn't see that being an option for me.
I was just like,
Nah,
I'm going to be cool,
You know,
Because why,
Why,
Why settle down when,
You know,
I can just be cool.
No ma'am.
That came from,
You know,
Different wounds,
Abandonment,
You know,
Just afraid somebody going to leave me,
Whatever.
These are things,
But these are real things that you have to take in accountability.
When you say you want marriage,
You want to be led,
You want to be loved and be loved,
You know?
So this conversation is important to have with,
You know,
Up and coming people that want to be wives,
Some,
You know,
This is for people who think that,
You know,
I'm not meant to be there.
Your soul will align you into that space.
It's not going to feel forced.
It's not going to feel rushed.
It is going to be in alignment.
I can remember like on my way to,
On my way the very first time we were going to the post office to get our wedding,
Our marriage papers,
Our marriage license notarized the very first time I was like,
We didn't even make it out of the neighborhood and I was like,
Stop the car.
Go back home.
I'm not ready.
I was just like,
In all actuality,
What was changing?
I mean,
This man,
My husband,
He had been taking care of me all those years,
Like spiritually,
Emotionally,
Mentally,
You know,
We weren't on a physical basis,
You know,
It was,
It was all platonic and energy.
So us putting a ring on it,
You know,
Me having this concept like,
Oh,
Things are going to change.
That was all in my mind.
And so I was depriving myself of the experience of being led,
Right?
So as a woman,
I know that I decided to be led where I don't know.
And so that is the part where we need to make sure that,
You know,
We look for the values,
Not just other things,
Right?
We look for the values.
What does this person value?
Can this person hold a conversation?
What do they feel about my dreams,
My goals?
So being led,
You have to be comfortable and be open to be led.
Be comfortable and be open to be led.
You know,
It was hard for me at first,
Like,
But he's very gentle,
Very loving.
Oh my gosh,
I'm so blessed.
Very loving.
Anybody who's met Big Daddy,
You know,
Very loving,
Very gentle,
Very kind,
Patient man.
And so he was so patient.
I was lucky,
You know,
To have someone like that,
But you got to be ready to open up and lean into the possibility that,
Yeah,
You know,
You don't have to move in scarcity anymore.
You don't have to move from a place of fear.
You don't have to move from a place of lack.
You are not without,
You know,
There will be times where I'm like,
Oh,
You know,
So and so,
X,
Y,
Z,
But he's like,
You have a husband,
Honey.
That's what I'm here for.
You know,
I'm like,
Oh,
You know,
Just so used to doing it by myself.
But that is not what,
That is not the agreement.
Marriage is a partnership.
It's wholeness.
You're coming to,
And I love that.
I love that for us.
I love that for you.
I love that for anybody who is willing to take that next step.
So,
In your Divine Feminine,
You know,
There's roles,
There's,
There's,
When I say roles,
Look,
In this house,
Everybody's going to take out the trash because here's the thing.
I live here too.
And I work from home.
So yeah,
I'm not just going to wait for a stinky trash to be there all day because my husband got to take it out.
No,
Ma'am.
I'm very much so capable of taking out the trash.
When I talk about our roles,
I'm talking about your Divine Feminine,
Right?
We are wired to nurture,
Be nurturing.
And so these are the,
These are the aspects and the characteristics of the Divine Feminine,
Right?
And so when you are in your role,
In your seat,
It allows him to lead in that way.
When I step outside of my seat,
I can feel his tension.
And he's so gentle.
He just waits for me to just,
You know,
My Fibonacci spiral for it to just come back.
Boing,
Boing,
Boing,
Boing,
Boing,
Boing,
Boing,
You know.
I say all this to call myself out,
To let you know that what you see today is a working progress.
Being led,
It was not easy.
Feminine energy,
Being led,
Being in this,
This container,
This energetic container,
What kind of energetic containers are you allowing yourself to sit in?
How does it feel for you?
Being led might not be so scary if you were trusting that container.
Trust.
That's another big word that comes up,
A big energy that comes up,
Trust.
I trust that this is exactly where we're going to end this.
