"I am as God created me." This lesson focuses on the idea that our true identity is as God created us, which is in a state of perfection and love. It emphasizes that this identity has not changed, despite our beliefs to the contrary. It invites us to shed false beliefs and perceptions, recognize the illusion of separation, and embrace their true, unalterable nature to find inner peace and freedom from fear. A Course in Miracles Lesson 162 I am as God created me.

This single thought,

I am as God created me,

Held firmly in the mind,

Would save the world.

From time to time,

We will repeat it as we reach another stage in learning.

It will mean far more to you as you advance.

I am as God created me.

These words are sacred,

For they are the words God gave in answer to the world you made.

By these words,

The world you made disappears.

All things seen within your world's misty clouds and vaporous illusions vanish as these words are spoken.

For these words come from God.

I am as God created me.

Here is the word by which the child became their father's happiness,

His love,

And his completion.

Here,

Creation is proclaimed and honored as it is.

I am as God created me.

There is no dream.

These words will not dispel any thought of sin and all illusions which the dream contains will fade away before the might of these words.

I am as God created me.

These words are the trumpet of awakening that sounds around the world.

The dead awake in answer to its call,

And those who live and hear this sound will never look on death.

I am as God created me.

Holy indeed is the one who makes these words their own,

Arising with them in their mind,

Recalling them throughout the day,

At night,

Bringing them along as they go to sleep.

Their dreams are happy and their rest is secure.

Their safety is certain and their body healed because they sleep and awaken with the truth before them always.

They will save the world because they give the world what they receive each time they practice the words of truth.

Today,

We practice simply for the words we use are mighty and they need no thoughts beyond themselves to change the mind of the one who uses them.

So holy is it changed that the mind is now the treasury in which God places all his gifts and all his love to be distributed to all the world,

Increased in giving,

Kept complete because its sharing is unlimited.

Say to yourself,

Say in your mind,

I am as God created me.

Ponder on this.

I am as God created me.

I am as God created me.

And thus,

You learn to think with God.

Christ's vision has restored your sight by salvaging your mind.

We honor you today.

Yours is the right to perfect the holiness you now accept.

With your acceptance is salvation brought to everyone.

Who could cherish sin when holiness like this has blessed the world?

Who could despair when perfect joy is yours,

Available to all as remedy for grief and misery,

As remedy for all sense of loss,

And as remedy for complete escape from sin and guilt?

Who would not be sister or brother to you now,

You,

Their Redeemer and their Savior?

Who could fail to welcome you into their heart with loving invitation,

Eager to unite in holiness?

I am as God created me.

Reflect on this for a few moments.

I am as God created me.

I am as God created me.

You are as God created you.

These words dispel the night.

Darkness is no more.

The light is come today to bless the world,

For you have recognized the child of God,

And in that recognition is the world's recognition as well.

I am as God created me.

Nothing real can be threatened.

Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.
