ACIM Lesson 254 Prayer

"Let every voice but God's be still in me."
This lesson emphasizes the importance of quieting our minds and letting go of ego-driven thoughts in order to hear God's voice within us. It encourages us to approach God in deep silence, seeking only to hear His Voice and receive His Word. The lesson teaches that when ego thoughts arise, we should simply observe them without engaging, then let them go, as we do not want what they would bring. In the resulting stillness, hallowed by God's Love, we can hear God speak to us of our true will, as we have chosen to remember Him.

A Course in Miracles Lesson 254 Let every voice but God's be still in me.

Father,

Today I would but hear your voice.

In deepest silence,

I would come to you to hear your voice and to receive your word.

I have no prayer but this.

I come to you to ask you for the truth.

Truth is but your will,

Which I would share with you today.

Today,

We let no ego thoughts direct our words or actions.

When such ego thoughts occur,

We quietly step back and look at them,

And then we let the ego thoughts go.

We do not want what ego thoughts would bring with them,

So we do not choose to keep them.

My ego thoughts are silent now.

In the stillness,

Hallowed by His love,

God speaks to us.

In the stillness,

God tells us of our will.

In the stillness,

We have chosen to remember God.

Let every voice but God's be still in me.

Nothing real can be threatened.

Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.
