ACIM Lesson 253 Prayer

"My Self is ruler of the universe."
This lesson emphasizes that our Higher Self, which is one with God, is the ruler of the spiritual universe. It teaches that everything that happens to us is a result of our own desires and choices, even in this world. The lesson encourages us to accept this responsibility, as it leads us past this world to our creations in Heaven. It concludes by affirming that our Higher Self, which rules the universe, is in perfect union with God's Will, gladly assenting to and extending it.

A Course in Miracles,

Lesson 253 Myself is ruler of the universe.

It is impossible that anything should come to me unbidden by myself.

Even in this world,

It is I who rule my destiny.

What happens is what I desire.

What does not occur is what I do not want to happen.

This I must accept.

For thus,

I am led past this world to my creations.

My creations are the children of my will in heaven.

My holy self abides in heaven with my creations.

My holy self abides in heaven with the one who has created me.

You my child are the self whom you created.

Creating like yourself,

Creating one with you.

My self,

Which rules the universe,

Is but your will in perfect union with my own.

My will can but offer glad ascent to yours,

So that my will may be extended to itself.

My self is ruler of the universe.

Nothing real can be threatened.

Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.
