ACIM Lesson 227 Contemplation

"This is my holy instant of release," focuses on the concept of releasing thoughts that separate us from God and embracing the present moment as a time of liberation. The lesson encourages us to lay down our belief in sinfulness and separation at the feet of truth, allowing these false beliefs to be removed forever. By doing so, we can experience a restoration of our true identity and a sense of freedom, as we align our will with God's and recognize that our perceived imprisonment was never real.

Lesson 227.

This is my holy instant of release.

Father,

It is today that I am free.

I am free because my will is yours.

I thought to make another will,

Yet nothing that I thought apart from you,

Father,

Exists.

I am free because I was mistaken.

My illusions did not affect my own reality at all.

Now I give up my illusions.

I lay down my illusions before the feet of truth.

I lay down my illusions to be removed forever from my mind.

This is my holy instant of release.

Father,

I know my will is one with yours.

And so,

Today,

We find our glad return to heaven.

Heaven,

Which we never really left.

The child of God,

This day,

Lays down all dreams.

The child of God,

This day,

Comes home again.

The child of God,

This day,

Is released from sin.

The child of God,

This day,

Is clad in holiness.

This day,

The child of God's right mind is restored at last.

It is today that I am free.

Father,
