We will meditate on Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." We will center ourselves in preparation, I will read the verse several times, and then I will allow room for contemplation of the verse.

Hello and welcome to Monday Meditation.

Today we're going to be doing a Bible verse meditation that will hopefully get you inspired and ready to start your Monday off right.

But first we'll start in the usual way.

Sit in a comfortable seat with your back supported,

Your eyes open,

And your gaze soft for now.

Let's take a deep breath in through your nose,

Feeling your body expand,

And out through your mouth,

Feeling your body relax.

Take another deep breath in through the nose,

This time pulling your shoulders up to your ears,

And a deep breath out,

Letting your shoulders and the rest of your muscles relax.

Last time,

Let's take a deep breath in through the nose,

And let this be the biggest breath you've taken all day,

And release,

Letting go of any remaining tension in your body.

Now bring your attention to your surroundings.

Let any sounds around you come and go.

Feel the temperature of the room.

Get a sense for any smells in the room.

Just take a moment to get a sense for your surroundings.

Now bring your attention to your body.

Take a moment just to get a sense for how you're feeling physically and emotionally.

Does your body feel heavy or light today?

Don't assume or judge your body for what it is today.

Just take a moment to observe how you're feeling.

Then scan your body from head to toe,

Noticing any sensation or lack thereof in each part of your body.

Now I'm going to begin the verse meditation.

If you want to follow along,

You can turn in your Bible or your Bible app to Colossians 3.

23.

I'll read the verse a few times and then give you a moment to meditate on the verse.

Again,

Colossians 3.

23.

Whatever you do,

Work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord,

Not for human masters.

If you're reading along,

Now's the time to close your Bible or lock your phone and close your eyes for one last reading,

And then I'll give you a few minutes to meditate.

Whatever you do,

Work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord,

Not for human masters.

Now bring your attention back to your surroundings.

Feel the weight of your body pressing down in your chair.

Hear the sounds around you come and go,

And you can gently open your eyes.

If you had any insights about the verse,

Feel free to journal them now in a notebook or on the notes app on your phone.

But otherwise,

I hope this verse inspires you to go out and do your best this Monday morning as you're working for the Lord,

Not for human masters.

Do your work with all your heart.

See you next time.

Thanks and God bless.
