I'm Jonna.
Let's do a belly breath,
Also known as a diaphragmatic breath,
Because when we breathe deeply,
We engage this dome-shaped muscle right here called the diaphragm.
The breath will begin at the belly and end at the belly.
And we'll be breathing through the nose.
On the inhale,
We'll let the belly grow big and that expansion of air.
Will continue up the body on the inhale all the way up to the collarbone And as we exhale,
We'll release the air downward from the collarbone.
To the belly.
Place your hands on your belly so you can really feel the engagement.
And we will begin.
Inhale letting the belly expand and letting that air and that expansion travel upward to the ribs.
Chest.
All the way up to the collarbone.
And now gently exhale downward releasing air from the chest rib.
Emptying that air all the way out until the belly is empty That is a belly breath.
