Hi,
Welcome to this 5-minute gratitude meditation.
You can come back and listen to it as many times as you need.
Start with setting yourself into a comfortable position,
Allowing your body to relax and feel supported.
You can close your eyes gently or keep a soft,
Unfocused gaze.
While you are taking a moment to settle in,
Feel your body connecting with the surface beneath you.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in and as you exhale,
Feel your body release any tension.
Now,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Notice its natural rhythm.
Feel the air as it enters and leaves your body.
There is no need to change anything,
Just simply observe.
Let your breath be soft and steady.
For the next few minutes,
We'll focus on cultivating gratitude.
Gratitude is a feeling of appreciation for the good things in our lives.
Begin by bringing to mind the people,
Things,
Or experiences that you are genuinely grateful for right now.
They can be small things like the comfort of your bed,
A delicious meal you had,
Or a kind word from a friend.
Or they can be bigger things like your health,
Your home,
Or your family.
As you bring each of these things to mind,
Try to truly feel the gratitude for them.
Where do you feel that warmth or expansion in your body?
Perhaps in your chest or a smile on your face.
Dwell on that feeling for a few moments for each item you think of.
Now,
Let's expand this feeling.
Imagine that gratitude is a soft,
Warm light in your heart.
With each inhale,
Imagine this light glowing brighter.
With each exhale,
Let it radiate outwards,
Filling your entire body with appreciation.
Feel a deep sense of contentment and well-being.
Okay,
When you notice your thoughts drifting,
Gently acknowledge them and then,
Without judgment,
Guide your attention back to the light of gratitude in your heart,
Being grateful.
Allow yourself to feel full and abundant with all the blessings in your life,
Both big and small.
Bring your awareness back to the sounds around you,
To the feeling of your body in your space.
Gently open your eyes.
Take a moment before you move to appreciate the feeling of gratitude you've cultivated.
Take one final gentle breath in and a slow releasing breath out.
Namaste.
