Welcome.
If you're here today,
I want you to know you're not alone.
Anxiety has a way of making our minds race into tomorrow while stealing the peace we need for today.
It can make our hearts feel heavy,
Our thoughts feel loud,
And our bodies feel tense.
But in this moment,
We're going to pause together and turn our attention towards Jesus.
Take a slow,
Gentle breath in.
Now slowly breathe out.
Again,
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out right now.
You don't need to fix every problem in the next few minutes.
Right now,
Your only job is to be present with God.
The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4,
6 through 7,
Notice that God doesn't promise we'll never experience anxiety.
He promises that we don't have to carry it alone.
As you continue breathing naturally,
Imagine placing each worry into Jesus' hands.
Maybe it's your family,
Your health,
Your finances,
A relationship,
Or simply the weight you've been carrying for far too long.
You don't have to pretend to be okay.
Jesus welcomes honesty.
You can simply whisper,
Lord,
This is too heavy for me.
Please carry what I cannot.
Now,
Gently place one hand over your heart if that feels comfortable.
As you breathe,
Silently repeat these words.
Jesus,
You are with me.
Now take another breath.
I am not alone.
Another slow breath.
Your peace is greater than my fear.
One more breath.
I trust in you with this moment.
Whatever happens later today,
Remember that you do not have to face it by yourself.
God's presence goes before you.
His love surrounds you.
His peace is available to you,
Even when your circumstances haven't changed.
Let's close this with prayer.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for meeting us here.
You know every anxious thought,
Every racing mind,
And every burden we carry.
Please replace fear with your peace,
Confusion with your wisdom,
And worry with deeper trust in you.
Help us remember that we are never abandoned and never forgotten.
Teach us to return to you again and again whenever anxiety begins to rise.
Thank you for your constant presence,
Your compassion,
And your unfailing love,
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Thank you for spending these moments with me today.
May you leave this meditation feeling a little lighter,
A little calmer,
And deeply reminded that Jesus walks beside you wherever you go.
