Contemplations on my heels by Sol Lin I will take a closer look at myself.
I hope you do too.
I love how yummy radical self-trust can be.
Where does love meet you today?
There's a day on the calendar that speaks the word love a little louder than the others.
And we don't all meet that word in the same way.
It could be that for you it arrives with want,
For others with memory,
And sometimes with weight.
Among us are those discovering new love,
Those holding love that's changing,
Those carrying love that's no longer here but still present,
Still alive inside.
There are those who are alone,
Not waiting,
Not missing,
But quietly content,
Enjoying their own company,
Their own rhythm,
Their own way of loving life as it is.
All of it belongs here today and doesn't need validation to flow.
There are those who meet love in the breath of a newborn,
In the presence of a child,
In nature,
In the steady way life keeps growing even when we're not paying attention.
Some of us feel love everywhere.
Some of us are unsure today.
Some of us have been looking forward to it and some of us don't feel much for this day at all.
It all has a place here today as it is.
Love doesn't always arrive in grand gestures or perfect timing.
So maybe today isn't about defining love or deciding what it should look like.
Maybe it's enough to notice how love meets us now as grief,
Presence,
Tenderness,
Joy,
Absence,
Independence,
Resistance.
Often it comes quietly,
In care,
In noticing,
In choosing not to turn away.
Sometimes love looks like staying.
Sometimes it looks like letting go.
Sometimes love is shared and sometimes it's deeply personal.
So wherever you are today,
Celebrating,
Remembering,
Stepping back,
Or simply being,
You don't need to move from where you are.
Let love be what it is.
Let it take the shape it has.
Let it breathe.
Let it flow and be the way it arrives so you can have that special moment with today.
This was my contemplation on my heels.
