I'm Soleil and welcome to ease yourself into sleep meditation.
It's time to relax and begin to let go of any worries or unwanted concerns left over from your busy day or from the busy energies from the outside world around you.
Close your eyes if they're not already and adjust your body so it's in the most comfortable sleeping position.
Take all the time you need to find a position that allows your body to fully let go.
We're creating a peaceful space where you can gradually release the weight of your day and prepare your mind and body for deep restorative sleep.
As you settle in,
Notice the gentle support beneath you,
Feel how your bed or chair holds you completely,
Requiring no effort on your part.
You're in a space now where nothing needs your attention and nothing needs to be done.
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath in now and as you exhale,
Feel the first layer of tension begin to melt away.
Another slow breath in and with this exhale,
Let your body become a little heavier,
Sinking deeper into the surface beneath you.
One more breath in and as you exhale,
Give yourself permission to completely let go.
Continuing with your own natural breath,
Your mind may still be carrying thoughts from your day or concerns about tomorrow.
This is natural and as these thoughts arise,
Imagine them as leaves floating on a gentle stream.
You don't need to chase them or push them away,
Simply observe them drifting by,
Becoming more and more distant with each breath.
Bring your awareness now to the top of your head,
Feeling it warm and soften.
Let this warmth flow down through your face,
Your jaw relaxing,
Your expression becoming peaceful.
Feel your shoulders becoming heavy,
Moving away from your ears,
Your arms resting by your side,
Hands soft and still,
Fingertips uncurling.
Bring your awareness to the centre of your chest,
Notice the gentle rhythm of your heart,
Each beat spreading waves of calm throughout your body.
Feel your back releasing completely,
Supported by the bed beneath you,
Your legs becoming heavy,
Feet and toes relaxing,
Your entire body from your head all the way down to your toes,
Completely relaxed and ready for deep restorative sleep.
Your body is amazing,
It has given you the blessing of working for you today,
Even through pain,
Discomfort and challenges,
Your body is here with you,
One with you and ready to surrender to soothing,
Restful sleep you deserve,
The sleep it needs to work for you again tomorrow.
