Begin by finding a comfortable position.
You might lie down on your back with your arms resting gently by your sides,
Or whatever position is most comfortable to you.
Close your eyes,
And take a deep breath in,
And then slowly exhale,
Releasing all tension and stress.
Now,
We're going to try a quick breathing technique to get us into a deeper state of relaxation.
This technique is called the 4-7-8 breathing technique,
And it has been shown to help activate the parasympathetic nervous system,
Leading to faster and deeper relaxation.
With this technique,
You're simply going to breathe in through your nose to the count of 4,
Hold for a count of 7,
And breathe out through your mouth for a count of 8.
I will guide you through this for 2 cycles,
And then leave you to do it on your own.

The sun is beginning its descent towards the horizon,

The sky is painted with hues of orange,
Pink,
And purple,
Creating a breathtaking canvas that stretches as far as the eye can see.
The sound of the waves gently crashing against the shore fills your ears.
Their rhythmic ebb and flow soothing your mind and soul.
You can hear the distant calls of seagulls as they glide effortlessly through the air.
There is a gentle,
Refreshing breeze that brushes against your skin,
Carrying the salty scent of the ocean.
As you take your first step onto the sand,
Feel the grains gently massage the soles of your feet.
With each step,
You become more and more aware of the serene beauty that surrounds you.
The sand is soft and inviting,
Cushioning each stride as you walk along the water's edge.
The waves lap at your feet with a gentle,
Warm touch.
Notice how the water creates intricate patterns on the sand as it retreats back into the ocean With every step,
Your body and mind become more and more relaxed,
Embracing the tranquility of the beach.
As you continue to walk,
The sun sinks lower in the sky,
Its vibrant colors deepening and blending together in a mesmerizing display.
The reflection of the sunlight on the water creates a shimmering pathway that seems to lead directly to the horizon.
Be still for a moment and take in this magnificent view.
Allow the beauty of the sunset to fill your heart with peace and gratitude.
Feel the warmth of the sun's rays on your skin,
As if it is gently embracing you in a comforting hug.
As you continue your stroll down this gorgeous beach,
Pay attention to the natural world around you.
Notice the delicate shells and pebbles scattered along the shore,
Each one marvelously unique and beautiful.
The gentle breeze carries the soft whispers of the ocean,
Calming your mind and easing any lingering thoughts.
Take a moment to bend down and pick up a small seashell.
Feel its smooth surface and intricate design.
As you hold it in your hand,
Let it remind you of the connection you have with nature and the simplicity of its beauty.
As you near the end of the beach,
The sun dips below the horizon,
Leaving behind a twilight sky that gradually begins to darken.
The colors fade into deep blues and purples,
And the first stars begin to appear,
Twinkling like tiny diamonds in the night sky.
Find a comfortable spot to sit down and reflect on the journey you have taken.
Feel the coolness of the sand beneath you,
And listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean.
Allow the calmness to wash over you as the waves gently carry away any residual stress.
