Welcome,
With awareness,
Breath and gentle movement I'll be guiding you to explore your body,
The space around you and the relationship between the two.
To begin this journey I invite you to find a comfortable position either lying down on your back or sitting upright.
Taking this moment to adjust making any final movements so you may settle into stillness with ease and if it feels comfortable gently allowing the eyes to close,
Bringing your awareness to your breath,
Simply noticing how does the body feel as it receives the inhale and lets go of the exhale.
Perhaps you can sense your heartbeat,
This quiet steady rhythm within you,
Noticing the inner world of the body.
There may be places calling for your attention and if so,
Gently bringing your awareness there,
Allowing those sensations to simply be as they are,
Letting your breath be your guide.
Continue to explore your inner world,
Noticing what is already alive within you in this present moment.
And now beginning to notice how your breath connects you to the space around you,
The inhale drawing in from the space you are in,
The exhale offering back to that same space.
A gentle exchange,
Your body and the space around you in relationship,
As if they are in a subtle dance of giving and receiving.
And perhaps you can begin to sense that the space around you is not separate from you but responsive and quiet relationship with your presence and you gently responding in return.
Continuing to deepen this exploration,
You may begin to introduce some small,
Slow and subtle movements.
There is no need to change your position,
You can remain exactly where you are,
Seated or lying down.
Allow the movements to be very simple.
Perhaps beginning with the fingers of one hand,
Slowly lifting them and letting them soften back down.
Maybe the fingers gently wiggle or ripple like a small wave moving through them.
You might explore a slow circle of the wrists or softly opening and closing the palm of your hand.
Perhaps noticing what it feels like to move the left hand and then the right.
Let the movements stay slow,
Curious and unforced.
The movement might be almost invisible and that is perfectly welcome here.
And from here,
Allowing movement to arise more freely in your body.
No need to force anything,
Just letting movement emerge as your awareness stays with this relationship between your body and the space around you.
As a part of your body moves,
It enters into space that was just there,
Waiting.
You might notice the feeling of air on your skin,
The way space meets you as you move through it.
Exploring different movements,
Different parts of the body,
Different space around you.
Listening,
Sensing where there is space available to move into and allow your body to gently meet it.
A quiet interaction,
A continuous unfolding.
And when you're ready,
Beginning to let your movements become smaller,
Slower,
Until you gradually return to stillness.
Pausing here,
Noticing how it feels to shift from movement into stillness.
Sensing the space around you once more and perhaps noticing a feeling of being held,
Supported.
As if you were not separate from the space,
But in constant relationship with it.
A continuous dance,
Whether in movement or in stillness.
Taking a few gentle breaths,
Feeling the support beneath your body and the space around you.
Beginning to bring small movements back into the body,
Perhaps the fingers or the toes.
And when you're ready,
Softly opening the eyes.
Returning to the room and carrying the sense of connection with you.
Thank you for exploring this practice with me.
You're welcome to return to it whenever you feel called.
