Welcome to this meditation.
Today we will create a space of safety,
Warmth and deep love.
I want you to feel nurtured and accepted,
Just as you are.
To begin,
I invite you to gather a few comforting items.
Find a warm blanket that wraps around you like a gentle hug.
Can you find a soft toy,
Teddy or cushion to cuddle?
And prepare a hot drink,
Something that soothes you.
Dress in comfortable clothes,
Allowing your body to feel relaxed and at ease.
Once you're settled,
Let's begin.
Find a cosy,
Comfortable position.
Allow your body to sink into the surface beneath you,
Feeling fully supported.
Take a moment to adjust your blanket,
Pulling it close around you.
Notice the warmth it brings,
Like a cocoon of safety.
Now,
Gently close your eyes.
Let's take a deep breath in together and exhale slowly.
As you breathe in,
Breathe in warmth and love.
As you breathe out,
Let go of any tension or worries.
Continue breathing deeply in and slowly breathing out.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to feel more relaxed,
More at peace,
More loved.
Now,
Let your hands gently stroke your head.
Start at the top of your head and bring your hands to the sides of your head.
Start at the top of your head and very slowly move your hands down,
Like treacle slowly covering every part of your head.
Feel the tenderness in your touch.
With each stroke,
Tell yourself you are safe and loved.
Allow yourself to feel nurtured and nourished.
You may now want to shift your focus to your face.
Use your hands to gently smooth your forehead,
Your cheeks,
Your jaw.
With each touch,
Say to yourself,
I am deserving of love and compassion.
Allow any tension in your heart to be released.
Allow any tension in your face to melt away.
Now,
Bring your attention to your hands.
Hold one hand with the other and lovingly rub the palms of your hands.
Feel the warmth of your touch,
The softness of your skin.
Continue to breathe deeply and gently.
Now,
Let out a gentle sigh,
Allowing it to release any remaining tension.
Experience that sense of acceptance in your body.
Bring a soft smile to your face.
Feel the warmth of the smile radiating within you.
Picture it spreading through your body,
Filling you with love and acceptance.
Now,
Take your soft toy or cushion and embrace it lovingly and tenderly.
Enjoy the feeling of being embraced.
Enjoy the feeling of emotional connection in your body.
Your toy or cushion accepts you just as you are.
Allow yourself to receive care,
Acceptance and nurturing from your safe,
Soft creature.
As you enjoy this feeling of connection,
You may want to softly repeat these words.
I am safe.
I am loved.
I celebrate my own uniqueness.
I am enough,
Just as I am.
I am loving and lovable.
Now,
Take a few more deep breaths.
Savouring this warm,
Loving space you've created.
When you're ready,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes and bring your awareness back to the room that you're in.
Slowly open your eyes and take a moment before returning to your day.
Carry this sense of safety,
Warmth,
Acceptance and love with you.
Remember,
You can return to this space anytime you need.
