Hello and welcome to tonight's guided meditation.
This meditation will be for a peaceful and restful sleep.
All you need to do is get comfortable and slowly close your eyes and allow my voice to guide you into a state of deep relaxation.
Once you are tucked in,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Just notice how you are breathing.
No judgment or changes need to be made.
Just observe the breath.
Notice how the breath rises and falls in the body.
Now I'd like you to turn your attention to your mind and any racing thoughts.
There is nothing that needs to be done right now.
Just allow yourself to let go of the day and any obligations still lingering in your mind.
Right now is perfect.
Allow the thoughts to come and go as we say goodbye to our day.
We will now connect to the breath with a simple 4-8 breathing pattern.
We will be breathing into the belly and then the chest and on the exhale our bodies will draw in.
Breathing with our diaphragm will help slow down our heart rate and ease our mind and body for sleep.
Breathe in deeply through your nose for a count of 4,
3,
2,
1.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of 8,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8,
In,

3,
4,
Out,

8.
Keep breathing with this rhythm and pay attention to the breath.
In for 4,
Out for 8.
Notice how the body feels with each breath.
Allow your body to settle and your mind to slow down.
Keep breathing in through the nose and exhale slowly for 8.
Now that your breath is steady and your body feels more relaxed,
We'll begin counting down from 30.
Counting backwards is a simple yet powerful way to clear the mind.
It gently occupies your mental space,
Leaving less room for wandering thoughts.
It allows your mind to let go,
To focus on something simple and repetitive which can create a sense of safety and calm.
As I count,
I'll guide you to visualize each number,
Helping you drift deeper into relaxation.
Imagine the number 30 appearing in your mind's eye,
Soft and glowing,
Like a gentle light in the night sky.
As you breathe in,
See the number clearly.
As you exhale,
Watch it dissolve,
Floating away.
29.
The number appears a little softer,
A little farther away.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
And let it go.
28.
Imagine it resting on a cloud,
Light and airy.
As the cloud drifts away,
So does the number.
27.
See it written in the sand,
The gentle waves washing over it,
Soothing it away.
26.
Visualize it as a leaf,
Falling slowly from a tree,
Gently touching down and blending into the earth.
25.
Picture it as a soft ripple in water,
Expanding and fading.
24.
It glows like a candle flame,
Warm and calm.
With your exhale,
The flame gently flickers out.
23.
The number appears as stars in the night sky,
Twinkling and fading into the vastness of space.
22.
It forms in the mist,
Cool and light,
Evaporating with each breath.
23.
Continue this journey,
Letting each number take on a soft,
Soothing form,
Allowing each to gently drift away.
24.
Feel yourself sinking deeper into your bed,
As if you are being cradled by the earth itself.
You are relaxed.
25.
Keep imagining each number as you count down,
See the numbers in your mind's eye.
With each breath,
See the number and exhale and let it go.
As we move down through the numbers,
Your body feels heavier,
Your mind feels lighter.
10.
Your breath is slow and steady.
9.
Every muscle is loose and relaxed.
8.
The world outside fades away.
7.
You are safe,
Held and at ease.
6.
Drifting,
Floating,
Sinking.
Your mind is clear,
Thoughts like soft whispers fading into silence.
4.
Your breath guides you,
A gentle wave of calm.
3.
You are right here,
In this peaceful moment.
2.
On the edge of sleep,
So close to complete rest.
1.
Deep,
Deep relaxation.
0.
Surrender.
Allow yourself to drift off,
Letting go completely.
If you are still awake,
Simply allow yourself to rest here.
You don't need to do anything else.
Your mind and body know how to drift into sleep naturally.
Let go of the day,
Let go of effort.
Trust that sleep will come.
And when it does,
It will be deep and rejuvenating.
Good night.
