A life of self-mastery,
It's not about killing the ego.
The egoic mind will never go away.
As long as you are a human being,
You are this package of ego self and spiritual self,
And that can never be separated.
These two polarized forces exist in us from birth until death.
Now,
Unfortunately,
Most people live in the egoic and it controls everything.
The egoic self,
This creature,
This animal that lives within us all,
It will try to hijack the process.
It will try to destroy the process and stop you from bringing spirit and awareness into your life.
And the reason it does that is because egoic self does not want to be seen.
When you meditate,
For example,
When you sit and meditate,
You bring awareness very closely into your personal space,
And your ego feels very uncomfortable because the ego does not want to be dissolved.
It does not want to be moved.
It wants to exist as a fixed structure.
So the ego will,
It will hijack the process and try to tell you to stop.
It will say,
You're not good at meditating.
You're not good at yoga.
Yoga isn't for you.
Yoga is silly.
Meditation's silly.
Stay away from that guy.
What you'll find is that the ego will tell you to stay away from people who will actually help you.
The ego also wants you to give up entirely.
A life of self-mastery is living in this kind of dance between the polar opposites.
It's about living with the egoic mind.
It will never go away,
But also doing a daily meditation practice or a daily spiritual practice to maintain connection to that non-physical awareness.
What you'll find is that when you turn up every day and you do your meditations or you do your yoga,
The egoic voice becomes less,
It becomes less intense and as powerful over you.
And it loses its gravitas.
It loses its strength.
It never goes away.
We live in duality.
Life is duality.
Thank you.
