Hey,
Welcome.
I wanted to begin today with a little reminder.
Growth isn't found only in the big steps forward.
Sometimes it's hidden in the smallest steps we almost forget to notice.
So before we begin today,
I want to ask you something.
When was the last time you actually gave yourself credit for how far you've come?
Not how far you still have to go.
Not what you haven't finished.
Not what you still want to change.
But the small things.
The things you may not even recognize as progress.
Maybe lately you've found yourself thinking I should be further along.
Maybe it's something you've been working toward.
Something you're trying to change.
Something you're healing from.
Or maybe you're simply trying to figure out what comes next.
And when things aren't moving as quickly or as perfectly as you imagined.
It can feel like you're not moving at all.
So,
For the next few moments.
We're going to take the pressure off.
No finish line,
No measuring No trying to become a better version of yourself.
Just a little space to recognize the progress that's already happened.
So find a comfortable position.
And if it feels good to you,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And let it go out through your mouth.
Again,
Full breath in.
.
.
And a long,
Slow breath out.
Just begin to soften the body.
And allow it to just settle with each breath.
Let yourself arrive a little more fully right here.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Now think about something in your life you've been working on.
Something you wish was further along.
Maybe something about yourself you've been trying to change.
Don't try to fix it.
Just notice what comes up.
Instead of looking at how far you still have to go.
Let's look for what.
Has already changed.
Maybe you finally said no to something you didn't want to do.
Maybe you rested when the old version of you would have pushed through.
Maybe you asked for help?
Maybe you walked away from something that wasn't good for you.
What if that counts?
What about the conversation you handled differently?
The boundary you're learning to hold.
The way you begin to speak to yourself now with a little more kindness that thing that once consumed your thoughts.
That doesn't quite have the same hold on you anymore.
What if that counts?
Take a slow breath in.
Let it go.
Maybe progress isn't always something you can see.
Maybe sometimes progress is noticing sooner.
Choosing differently.
Changing your mind,
Trying again.
And maybe progress doesn't always feel like progress while you're living through it.
Sometimes it just feels messy.
We're so used to seeing the before and then the after.
The beginning and then the accomplishment.
But we don't talk nearly enough.
About everything that happens in between.
The train,
The stopping.
Starting again.
The days you feel like you've got it all figured out.
And the days you wonder if you've learned anything at all.
That middle space.
There's so much of your life that's actually happening.
That's where you're becoming.
Take another slow breath in.
And exhale out.
And let go of the ideal that your progress needs to be perfect to matter.
You can take two steps forward and one step back.
And still be moving forward you can rest and still be making progress you can change direction and still be growing.
You can begin again.
Without beginning from zero.
Because you bring everything you've learned with you.
Think about the version of you from a year ago.
Maybe even a few years ago.
What do you know now that you didn't know then?
What have you walked through?
What have you learned to let go of?
Maybe there's more progress than you realized.
Place one hand on your heart.
Take a slow breath in Let it go.
And quietly repeat after me.
I honor my progress.
I release perfection.
I trust my pace.
One more breath in.
And as you breathe in.
.
.
Progress over perfection.
And as you breathe out one step at a time.
And now,
Instead of asking yourself,
Why am I not there yet?
Try asking.
What am I doing differently now?
Take a slow breath in Slowly let it go.
You are not a before picture waiting to become an after.
You are living,
Learning,
Changing,
And becoming.
And all those little steps you thought didn't count.
They do.
The restarts count.
The tiny shifts count.
Choosing yourself counts.
You count.
Take one final slow,
Deep breath in.
Completely let it go as you move into the rest of your day,
Remember.
You don't have to do it perfectly for it to be progress.
One choice,
One small shift.
One beautifully imperfect step at a time.
I'll see you again.
Real soon.
