You are not responsible for everyone's comfort.

Notice how that sentence lands in your body,

The tightening,

The urge to explain,

The reflex to soften it.

Many of us learned early that keeping others comfortable meant staying safe,

Saying yes,

Staying agreeable,

Swallowing the no.

Over time,

This becomes exhaustion.

Discomfort does not mean danger.

Someone else's disappointment is not a failure on your part.

You can care without caring.

You can love without collapsing into agreement.

Let others feel what is theirs to feel.

Let yourself stay with what is true for you.

You are allowed to be kind without disappearing.

Rest here.
