Visualize yourself standing on the beach during a relaxing and grounding meditation before taking a healing walk. Help to reduce stress, enhance sleep, and improve healing and recovery time. In this audio recording Mary Jane Sieber, an Occupational Therapist, will also incorporate aspects of motor imagery used in sports training and neurological rehabilitation.

This guided motor imagery session will involve a healing walk on the beach.

It will start with some healing relaxation and deep breathing while standing on the beach.

Consider my words as the voice in your head.

I will be speaking in the first person using the word I.

I'm standing on the beach and what a beautiful day.

I can feel the warm sand under my feet and between my toes.

The sun feels warm on my skin,

But the cool sea breeze keeps me the perfect temperature.

The reflection of the sun on the water is beautiful,

And the sound of the waves crashing on the beach is very relaxing.

I take a deep breath in my nose and out my mouth.

As I take a deep breath in,

I feel the healing sea air enter my nose.

It travels through my sinuses and into my lungs.

Every time I breathe in,

I can feel the sea air clearing and healing my sinuses and lungs.

Deep breath in and out.

The sea salt in the air is so healing to my body.

I can breathe so freely.

I feel so relaxed.

I breathe again in my nose and out my mouth.

I walk closer to the water and notice how easily I walk on the uneven sand.

The muscles in my legs feel so relaxed and strong.

I am now right at the water's edge and my feet sink slightly into the wet sand as the cool water rolls over my feet.

I feel grounded to the earth.

I can feel the healing influence from the earth moving into my feet,

Like a golden light from the earth's core moving up my ankles.

I can feel my body's basic rhythms harmonizing for optimal health.

From my ankles,

The golden healing light moves up to my calves,

Over my knees,

Into my thighs.

My circulation is so optimized.

My body is healing itself as the golden light moves up to my pelvic area,

Over my abdominal area.

I am now to the back of my pelvis and up my spine,

Over my low back,

Middle back,

And upper back,

And around to my chest,

And down my arms,

Past my elbows,

To my wrists,

And into my hands.

I take a deep breath in and out.

I can see and feel the harmonizing golden light from the earth's core moving up my neck,

Up to my chin,

And my ears,

Over my nose and eyes,

Over my forehead,

And now up to the top of my head.

The golden light now moves outside my body and surrounds me.

It protects me.

The systems in my body are optimizing.

My body is healing itself.

I feel so strong and vibrant.

I turn to take a walk on the beach.

It is a beautiful day for a walk.

My muscles feel so relaxed and strong.

I can walk with such ease.

My arms are swinging relaxed at my sides.

I can feel the wet sand under my feet.

With each step,

I remain grounded to the earth,

And the healing golden light continues to fill my body and surround me.

I continue walking and take a deep breath in my nose and out my mouth.

I feel stronger and more vibrant with each step.

My joints move with ease,

My shoulders are relaxed,

And my spine feels so elongated.

I walk with such confidence because I feel strong and I trust my body has everything it needs to heal itself.

I continue walking.

A larger wave hits the beach and I feel the water rise above my ankles.

It feels cool and refreshing.

My walking pace is unchanged because my balance is good and my legs are strong.

I continue walking and take a deep breath in my nose and out my mouth.

I remain grounded with the earth as I walk with the healing influence continuing to move through my body,

Healing me at a cellular level.

I notice a patch of shells on the beach ahead of me.

I continue walking and it gets closer and closer.

I look down and inspect the shells and notice their beauty.

I squat down to pick up a shell in each hand.

I remain in the squatted position as the wave approaches to rinse off the shells in both hands.

My joints feel so flexible,

Limber and strong as I remain in this position until my shells are clean.

I stand up tall and feel the shell in each hand.

My hands are strong and relaxed as I hold on to each seashell.

I continue walking along the beach.

I take a deep breath in my nose and out my mouth.

As I continue walking,

I notice how much energy I have.

I feel so vibrant and resilient and ready for the rest of my day.

My mind is clear.

My muscles are relaxed.

I feel so healthy.

I stop and stand facing the water.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Feel so calm watching the waves hit the beach.

Deep breath in and out.

I remain grounded to the earth.

The golden light remains throughout my body.

I can see and feel my whole body shining with the golden light.

I can feel it healing my immune system,

Balancing my hormones,

Repairing my body at the cellular level.

This healing light will remain with me throughout the day.

I will remain here until I am ready to open my eyes and continue my day.

But even after I open my eyes and leave the beach,

The healing golden light will remain with me.
