Life's journey isn't a straight line.

There will be highs and lows,

Twists and turns.

Some days everything flows seamlessly,

Whilst other times life feels like an uphill battle.

When life is smooth sailing it feels effortless,

But during those periods of uncertainty it can seem overwhelming.

In these moments it might feel like you have no choices left,

Yet you do.

You can either resist these new circumstances or decide on your next best move.

Perhaps you've recently retired and feel a bit adrift,

Yet you're eager to embrace your newfound freedom.

Maybe you've gone through a divorce and feel incomplete,

And somehow you're determined to carve out a fulfilling life for yourself.

You might have been made redundant and feel uncertain about your future,

However you are ready to find the right path.

Perhaps you've just become a mum and feel like you've lost your sense of self,

Yet you want to feel at ease in your own skin again.

Or maybe you've launched your first business and feel overwhelmed,

And now you are committed to making it a success.

No matter what new situation you find yourself in,

Remember that the power lies within you.

You are more capable than you realise.

This new chapter isn't dictated by others,

It's written by you.

It begins with the courage to take the first step towards where you want to go,

And the belief that you can get there.

Step one,

Who do you need to be?

When your world changes remember what happens next is up to you.

If you want your life to transform,

It starts with you.

This isn't about changing yourself to please others,

It's about becoming truly comfortable with who you are.

It's about building a solid foundation so that you can handle whatever life throws your way.

So,

Who do you want to be?

Who do you want to see when you look in the mirror?

Step two,

How do you want life to be?

It all begins with deciding how you want your life to be.

What do you want it to look like?

What do you want it to sound like?

How do you want it to feel?

Remember your current situation isn't set in stone,

It's temporary.

You have the power to design the life that you deserve.

So don't be shy and don't hold back.

Dream big.

It's your life and it should be exactly what you want it to be.

There is no need to limit yourself or place restrictions on what you can achieve.

Create your reality.

So make it a good one.

Give yourself some space,

Some time and design the life you want to live.

Make it in full colour.

Make it sound amazing.

Make it feel like it was always meant to be.

Step three,

What habits do you need to nurture?

Over time,

We all develop many habits.

Some serve us and others,

They hold us back,

Even if they initially feel good.

Cultivating positive habits will make life easier and eventually become second nature,

Just like brushing your teeth or washing your hair.

Take some time to decide which habits you want to keep,

Which ones you need to replace and any new ones you think you need to form.

Step four,

What actions will get you to where you want to be?

So you've now created this clear vision of what you desire,

How you want to be,

What your life looked like.

It's time to make it a reality by putting in the real work.

Yep,

You now need a plan.

You need to decide what actions will move you from where you are today to where you want to be tomorrow.

This can feel overwhelming with a mix of excitement and apprehension.

However,

As I always tell my daughter,

I'm not asking you to climb a mountain.

I'm not asking you to run a marathon.

I'm simply asking you to take the next step.

So keep it simple.

Determine the actions you need to take that will help you get started and prioritise those ones.

Please ensure your steps are small and achievable so that you stay motivated.

Step number five,

Take the first step.

You have everything you need to transition from where you are to where you want to be.

It's about taking consistent small steps every day to keep you moving forward.

By taking daily steps forward,

You will build momentum and that momentum will drive you to the place you want to be.

If things don't go according to plan,

That's no need to give up.

Pause,

Reflect and then decide on your next best move and celebrate your successes,

No matter the size.

This will maintain your momentum and your motivation.

And although occasionally you may feel like you've taken a step back,

You will continue to move forward.

We cannot control the circumstances we find ourselves in.

We can control what happens next and how we respond.

You have the power to make the right choices for you.
