Abraxa: Mirror Lake
by Marco Bini
There are moments when the mind needs only a place to settle. This is that place: three hours of continuous acoustic environment in which the nervous system can slow down, with nothing to demand its attention. A dry carpet of sustained strings carries distant choral voices, the Forest Muses, as finely modulated resonances. Woven into it is a real natural field: ultra-high-resolution recordings captured at 600 metres in the mountain jungle between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, the authentic voice of Mirror Lake before sunset, with native birdsong from the first minutes. In the second half, the lake rises to the foreground and accompanies the listener alone to the end. These melodies were born when things simply had to go well, almost a mantra, offering quiet support along the middle way, helping find direction again when its meaning has been lost. The mind drifts toward deep rest, in the Alpha and Theta range. Composed by Rimauri.
