How To Eliminate Self-Doubt At The Root
Self-doubt isn't a reflection of your ability—it's often the result of beliefs you learned long ago. In this thought-provoking talk, you'll discover where self-doubt really comes from, why it persists even in capable and successful people, and how unconscious programming shapes the way we see ourselves. Most importantly, you'll learn how to identify and eliminate self-doubt at its source so it no longer controls your decisions, confidence, or future.

How to eliminate self-doubt at the root?
My name is Parul and I'm going to start with the question today.
Why is it that some of the most capable people struggle with self-doubt?
Why do intelligent people procrastinate?
Why do talented people hesitate?
Why do people with enormous potential often play smaller than they're capable of?
Most of us assume.
Self-doubt exists because we're not ready.
But is that true?
We feel we're not skilled enough.
Not experienced enough,
Not confident enough.
But what if self-doubt?
Isn't.
A reflection of your ability.
What if it's the result of something much deeper?
You'll see.
As human beings,
We are wired for safety.
We like what's familiar.
Predictable.
Comfortable.
At the same time.
There's another part of us.
That wants to grow.
To create.
Contribute.
To become more than we are today.
And every time we step toward growth.
Self-doubt often appears.
Not because we're incapable.
But because growth feels uncomfortable.
Unfamiliar.
And unfamiliar can feel unsafe.
Which raises an important question.
Where does self-doubt come from?
I don't believe we're born doubting ourselves.
I believe.
We learn it.
Think about a young child.
Children absorb everything around them.
They don't yet have the ability to critically evaluate every experience.
So they often turn experiences into beliefs.
Imagine.
A little boy named is shopping with his father.
And sees a toy.
He wants.
He asked for it.
Once.
Then again.
Then again.
.
.
Finally,
His father.
.
.
Stress Tired?
Overwhelm.
And seas.
You're not getting it.
You don't deserve it.
For the Father.
It's a moment of frustration.
For Danny,
It can become a belief.
The lens through which he starts viewing the world.
And himself.
As well as what he deserved.
And what he does not deserve.
Because children don't hear context.
They hear meaning.
What Danny takes away is not.
My father is stressed.
What he hears is.
.
.
I am not deserving.
I am not worthy.
I am not good enough.
Enough experiences.
Reinforce that belief.
It becomes a part of his identity.
Years later,
Tani may not remember the event.
But the belief remains.
And that's why one of the most important truths I've learned is this.
People rarely rise above the opinion they hold of themselves.
In deep down.
You believe.
You're capable.
You'll find evidence.
That's just how our minds work,
And this is not woo-woo.
This is science.
But a deep down,
You believe.
You're not enough.
You'll find evidence for that too.
Because whether we realize it or not,
We're constantly trying to prove our identity right.
Here's where it gets interesting.
Most people try to overcome self-doubt with motivation.
They set goals.
Read books?
Watch inspiring videos.
I've been doing that,
You know,
For all my life and I've been riled with self-doubt as well and I've realized that.
That those things help.
But often the results don't last.
Why is that so?
Because they're only addressing the conscious mind.
Imagine your conscious mind is an ant.
The ant is hardworking,
Focused.
You know determined.
As an ant is?
It decides where it wants to go.
But the ant is standing on the back of an elephant.
The elephant represents your unconscious beliefs.
Your conditioning.
Sure.
Habit.
Cure.
Self-image.
If the ant wants to go north.
But the elephant is heading south.
Who do you think wins?
The elephant.
Of course.
Every single time.
That's why people often know exactly what they should do and still don't do it.
Their conscious goals are moving in one direction.
While their unconscious beliefs are pulling them in another.
And trust me,
The latter is running the show of your life.
So how do we eliminate self-doubt at the root?
I believe there are three steps.
First,
Obviously stop feeding it.
Pay attention to what you're consuming.
Conversations.
You're having.
Are those that people are having around you.
Content.
The people around you themselves.
As I've already mentioned.
You cannot surround yourself with fear,
Negativity and limitation every day.
And expect confidence to grow.
Second.
Feed a new identity.
Surround yourself with evidence that your old story was true.
Isn't true.
It's beginning to make sense now.
Learn from people.
Who have overcome obstacles.
Expose yourself to ideas that expand what's possible.
Every piece of new evidence weakens an old limiting belief.
And finally address the root cause.
Don't just manage the symptoms.
Ask yourself.
What belief is driving this behavior?
If you're constantly procrastinating.
What's underneath it.
If you're constantly seeking approval,
What's underneath that?
If you're playing small.
What's hiding beneath the surface?
Because often the visible problem isn't the real problem.
The real problem is the story you've been carrying for years.
And until that story changes.
Pattern remains.
This is why I believe.
.
.
Confidence isn't the ultimate goal.
Maybe controversial.
But true.
Self-mastery is because confidence comes and goes.
It's a nutshell.
But self mastery means understanding yourself deeply enough.
That old programming.
No longer controls your future.
And when you finally stop treating self-doubt as truth and start seeing it as conditioning.
Something powerful happens.
You stop asking.
What's wrong with me?
And start asking.
What belief am I carrying?
That no longer Serves me.
Does that strike God?
Because self-doubt is not who you are.
It is a story.
And any story that was learned from it.
Can be rewritten.
Thank you.
That's all from me for today.
