Welcome to this tapping meditation.
When the voice inside your head is your most critical one.
We all have days where we feel that our inner monologue is extra critical.
If this is one of those days,
This meditation is perfect to allow you to meet that critical inner voice with love,
Compassion,
Support,
And understanding.
If you're new to tapping.
It is a gentle healing modality.
That allows you to.
Acknowledge your present state.
While tapping on specific points of the body.
To release stagnant energy.
And to bring calm to your amygdala.
You will be repeating the words that I say while tapping on a series of points that I guide you through.
So I encourage you now to find a comfortable place to sit.
Somewhere where you will be at ease for the duration of this tapping meditation.
And where you will easily be able to access the tapping points.
Let's begin by taking a deep nourishing breath in through the nose.
Feeling the air enter our nostrils and travel down into the chest feeling the chest expand feeling the air moving down into our belly.
As it expands like a balloon.
Holding our breath for a moment here.
And then allowing yourself to exhale with a loud audible sigh.
Releasing the air inside your body.
And envisioning any stagnant energy.
Exiting your body with the release of this breath.
We're going to begin by tapping on the side of the hand.
You can tap on either the left or right side and repeating after me.
Even though I have this voice inside my head that likes to be really hard on me,
I choose to fully and completely love and accept myself.
Continuing to tap on the side of the hand.
Even though I find myself having really critical thoughts about me and everything to do with me.
I choose to send love to my beautiful mind and tell it that it's okay.
Even though my mind can be so harsh and it doesn't feel nice to be in the receiving end of these thoughts,
I choose to love all parts of me right now.
Moving your hand to the inside of your eyebrow,
Either left or right eyebrows,
This is a bilateral point.
You can also feel free to tap on both insides if this feels more comfortable and repeating after me.
Wow,
My thoughts can be so critical.
Tapping on the outside of the eyebrow.
I'm just so hard on myself sometimes.
Tapping underneath the eye,
Right at the bone.
I really can be my own worst judge.
Tapping underneath the nose.
Sometimes I wonder if I truly believe the things that I say about myself.
Tapping on the chin.
All these critical and harsh thoughts.
Tapping right underneath the collarbones,
Circling inside my mind at all times.
Tapping underneath the arm.
Sometimes I wish there was an off button that I could press to turn them all off.
Tapping at the top of the head at your crown.
Sometimes I wonder where I got this habit to be so critical.
Taking a moment here as you're tapping on the top of the head to take another breath in holding that breath at the top.
Exhaling that breath out,
And just taking a moment to feel your body.
And to notice.
Notice any sensations.
And not put a label,
But simply to see where you're at.
And continuing to tap now on the inside of the eyebrow.
Maybe this isn't my voice at all.
Tapping on the outside of the eyebrow.
And I'm not saying that this voice doesn't mean well.
Tapping underneath the eye.
Or that it doesn't believe that it's acting for my greater good.
Tapping underneath the nose when it's pointing out all the ways that I'm messing up or not doing my best.
Tapping on the chin.
When it's telling me all the ways that I could be much better than I currently am.
Tapping underneath the collarbone.
But maybe somewhere along the way,
I learned that being really hard on myself is the only approach to real self-improvement.
Tapping underneath the arms.
Maybe it's something I picked up in my childhood from well-meaning adults.
Tapping on the top of the head.
Who believed the only way to encourage me to improve was by telling me all the ways that I wasn't good enough right in that moment.
Moving back to the inside of the eyebrow.
And here I am,
Decades later,
Still using the same well-meaning approach.
Tapping on the outside of the eyebrow.
But I feel ready for a change.
Something different.
Tapping underneath the eye.
I'm tired of being so hard on myself.
Underneath the nose.
Even though there's a part of me that believes if I'm not hard on myself,
I won't be motivated to be better.
Tapping on the chin.
There's another part of me that knows that this is an outdated belief.
Tapping on the collarbones.
Even though trying a different approach feels a little scary.
Underneath the arms.
It may be exactly what I need right now.
And tapping on the top of the head.
And I won't know unless I take the chance and try.
Taking another breath in here.
Allowing yourself to feel new energy entering your body as you inhale.
Allowing yourself to notice the quality of this energy.
And how it moves through your body.
And then taking a nice audible exhale.
Moving through our last round of tapping.
Starting at the inside of the eyebrow.
I am worthy of receiving the kindness that I speak to others.
Tapping on the outside of the eyebrow.
I'm rewriting the script today.
Underneath the eye,
There's no time like the present to treat myself with kindness.
Underneath the nose.
I am worthy of speaking to myself with appreciation and love.
Tapping on the chin,
It feels so freeing to believe that I've been worthy all along.
Tapping underneath the collarbone.
And it feels good to give my mind a rest from spinning those exhausting thoughts all day.
Underneath the arm,
I'm worthy of praise and appreciation from myself.
And tapping at the top of the head.
I choose to flip the script today.
And notice how you feel as you say that final phrase.
I choose to flip the script today.
Place both hands on your heart.
Feel the warmth of that touch.
Sending yourself love through your hands.
Acknowledging with appreciation that you've taken this moment out of your day.
To show yourself love and compassion.
To be your own support and best friend.
Thank you for tapping with me and have a beautiful rest of your day.
