This is seeing others through Christ's eyes,
A liberating humanity,
Christ-centered meditation.
In John 13,
Christ said,
A new commandment I give unto you,
That you love one another as I have loved you.
This meditation is a time to let Christ's love guide how you see others.
Sit comfortably,
Close your eyes,
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
Exhale gently through your mouth,
And slow breath out.
Let your breathing settle into a steady rhythm.
As you breathe in,
Receive love.
As you breathe out,
Release judgment.
Now,
Quietly say a prayer in your heart,
A prayer for compassion,
A prayer for understanding.
A prayer to love as Christ loves.
Invite divine protection of this space.
Only the pure love of God is present.
Bring your awareness to your heart.
Consider someone you love easily.
Notice the warmth that rises in your heart.
Feel into that divine,
Unconditional love.
Let me love others this way.
Now,
Gently allow another person to come to mind,
Someone neutral,
Someone you do not think about often.
See them as a person created by God,
Seen.
With each inhale,
Receive Christ's love,
And with each exhale,
Allow that love to extend outward.
If it feels natural,
Allow someone more difficult to come to mind.
Do not force it,
Simply notice.
You are not excusing harm.
You are choosing to see clearly.
See them as human,
Imperfect,
Just as you are.
Quietly say,
Lord,
Help me see through your eyes.
Become a channel for God's love,
Allowing it to flow to you and through you to humanity.
Continue to breathe with intention.
With each inhale,
Receive God's love.
With each exhale,
Give God's love.
Receive love.
Exhale,
Give love.
Inhale,
Receive God's love.
Exhale,
Give love.
Exhale,
Give love.
Continue breathing and being a channel for God's love.
If your mind wanders,
Return to the breath.
Receive God's love.
Give God's love.
Let compassion soften what has been hard.
Let mercy loosen what has been tight,
And the mercy of forgiveness.
