Welcome to this guided meditation in which we will focus on balancing the waves in our lives.
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting on a cushion or on a chair.
Allowing your back to be straight,
But not stiff.
Or laying down with a small cushion under the back of your head.
Try to stay present.
Allow your hands to rest naturally in your lap or at your side.
And allow your eyes to close,
Or take a soft gaze if that's more comfortable for you.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And a soft breath out through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in through your nose.
And breathing out through your nose or mouth Now allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm.
Connect with the rise and fall of your breath.
Begin to let go of the sounds around you.
There's nowhere else to be.
Nothing need to fix.
Nothing you need to achieve.
For these next few moments,
Simply allow yourself to arrive,
And to shift your attention from outside to inside.
Notice the surface beneath you.
Feel the weight of your body being held as if the earth itself is carrying you.
You don't need to hold everything on your own.
You can rest here.
Bring your awareness to your breath,
Not controlling it,
Simply observing.
The gentle rise,
The gentle fall.
Like waves moving towards the shore and returning again.
Each breath has its own rhythm,
Its own intelligence,
Its own timing.
Imagine now that you're sitting beside a vast,
Beautiful ocean.
The sky stretches endlessly above.
The horizon is calm.
The air is fresh.
And before you,
The waves move in their eternal dance.
Some are small.
Some are larger.
Summarize softly.
Others arrive with power,
Yet every wave belongs to the emotion.
As you watch these waves,
Begin to recognize them as your inner experiences.
Your thoughts.
Your emotions,
Your memories,
Your hopes.
Your worries.
Each one rises,
Each one moves.
Each one eventually dissolves,
Just like a wave.
But notice if there's anything present within you today.
Perhaps a feeling.
A conch shell.
Attention.
Or perhaps excitement,
Anticipation,
Joy.
Whatever is here.
Imagine placing it gently on the surface of the ocean.
Not pushing it away.
Not holding on to it.
Simply allowing it to become another wave Many of us spend our lives trying to stop the waves.
Trying to control every movement.
Trying to force calm.
But the ocean isn't peaceful because there are no waves.
The ocean is peaceful because it allows every wave.
Take a slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Allow yourself to do the same again.
Now bring your attention deeper.
Beneath the surface waves.
Imagine diving gently below the water,
Just a few feet.
San Diego.
And deeper still.
Notice how the movement above begins to fade.
The deeper you go,
The quieter it becomes.
The waves still exist.
But they no longer disturb the deaths.
Rest here for a moment in this deep inner ocean.
Nothing to change.
Nothing to improve.
Simply being.
Now imagine a soft light appearing within this stillness.
A warm,
Pleasant stride.
Perhaps golden.
Perhaps silver.
Perhaps a color that feels right for you.
With every breath,
This light grows brighter.
Expanding gently through your body,
Bringing balance wherever it goes.
Feel it flowing into your mind,
Settling busy thoughts.
Creating space.
Creating clarity.
Fishnet flowing into your heart.
Softening resistance.
Of softening judgment.
Inviting compassion.
Feel it flowing into your body.
Relaxing areas that may be holding tension.
Inviting ease.
Inviting harmony.
It's a slight expanse.
Imagine it moving through your entire inner ocean.
Balancing every wave.
Not by making them disappear.
But by helping them move naturally.
Freely,
Without struggle.
Silently repeat these words.
I honor every wave within me.
I do not need to fear change.
I trust my deeper wisdom.
I return to balance again and again.
I am both the wave and the ocean.
Take a moment now to simply rest.
Breathing naturally.
Feeling balanced.
Feeling supported.
Feeling connected to the quiet depth within.
Begin to notice your breath once again.
The gentle movement of air entering and leaving your body.
Notice the room around you.
The sounds near and far.
The surface beneath you.
And recognize that this calm center remains available to you.
No matter what waves life brings.
You can return to it again and again.
Take a slow,
Slightly deeper breath in.
And slowly let it go.
Start to wiggle your fingers.
You do all right.
Gently inviting movement back into your body.
Take one more nourishing breath in.
In and out.
And when you're ready,
Softly open your eyes.
Carry this balance with you.
Remember,
The waves may change,
But the ocean remains.
Thank you for taking this time to balance your waves.
Namaste.
