Welcome to this giving yourself grace meditation.
I'm Jenny.
Let's settle in.
First,
I invite you to make yourself comfortable.
Really comfortable.
Lie down,
Grab some pillows and blankets and prop yourself up.
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes and start to connect with your breath.
No need to change it,
Just notice.
And when your mind starts to wander,
Gently come back to your breath.
Often we are called to have compassion for others,
To be someone's shoulder to cry on,
To be a cheerleader or provide care and support.
This meditation is to remind you that you can do all that for yourself too.
Being a caregiver,
Partner or a friend,
It's easy to show others grace and it's easy to forget yourself.
Continue to stay connected to your breath.
Think about a time when you felt you were less than perfect.
Maybe you forgot something on your shopping list or didn't return a text back in time.
Try to remember just one moment or mistake.
Take a few breaths here.
Now,
Think about how you would react to a friend telling you they made the same mistake.
Do you offer that friend grace,
Compassion,
Maybe more than what you offer yourself?
Take a few breaths here and notice the compassion that you are able to give yourself.
I would like to offer you a few affirmations.
I will say the affirmation aloud and invite you to repeat it silently,
In a whisper or out loud.
I will repeat these affirmations three times.
Maybe you choose to silently repeat them and maybe on the third,
You're ready to shout.
Choose what resonates with you.
Deep breath in and a deep breath out.
I am doing my best and that is enough.
I offer myself grace.
I offer myself kindness.
I believe in myself.
I am awesome.
I am doing my best and that is enough.
