Welcome.
You don't have to arrive any particular way tonight.
Tired is enough.
Wired is okay too.
This practice is for those whose days don't really end,
Whose minds stay health-open,
Listening for what's next.
If part of you feels responsible,
Even now,
For people,
Outcomes,
Situations beyond your control,
You are not alone in that.
And tonight,
You don't have to set that part of you aside.
You can let it rest with you.
Allow your body to settle into its chosen position for the night.
Notice where it feels supported.
Notice where it still feels busy.
Nothing needs to change.
Many people who carry a lot do so quietly,
Without recognition,
Without pause.
If you've been holding more than you share emotionally,
Mentally,
Energetically,
Your body has been working very hard.
Rest is not something you have to earn.
You don't need to finish everything first.
For the next few hours,
Nothing depends on you.
The world will continue without your supervision.
The people you care about will find their way through the night.
Tonight,
You are allowed to lay the weight down.
Bring your attention to the back of your body.
The places you don't usually lead with.
The places that receive rather than give.
Notice the back of your head.
Let it be held.
Your shoulders,
Imagine them softening backward rather than pulling forward.
Your back,
Your hips,
Your legs.
If your body is used to staying ready,
It may take time to trust this support.
That's okay.
You don't need to convince it.
Just keep noticing.
With each exhale,
Imagine something heavy gently sliding off,
Like setting a bag down beside you.
Now,
Gently move awareness through the body,
The face,
The jaw,
The throat,
The chest,
The belly,
The place that often holds responsibility,
Your right arm,
Your left arm,
Your hands,
So often busy,
So often reaching,
Your legs,
Carriers of momentum,
Your feet,
No longer needing to go anywhere,
Your whole body resting,
Supported.
Now without reviewing the details,
Bring awareness to the sense of carrying,
The weight of expectation,
The quiet pressure to hold things together.
If it feels hard to fully let go,
That doesn't mean you're failing at rest,
It means your system has learned to protect.
Tonight,
You are not asked to drop everything,
Only to share the load.
Imagine the surface beneath you rising slightly,
Meeting your weight halfway.
Now offer yourself a simple intention.
You might repeat one of these or allow your own to form.
I am allowed to rest without guilt.
I do not have to carry this alone.
It is safe to be supported.
Let the words settle in.
As we move towards silence,
Know that nothing is being taken away.
The sound that follows will remain steady through the night,
A quiet presence.
If your mind stays alert,
Let it.
If sleep comes quickly,
Allow it.
You don't need to stay awake.
You don't need to stay aware.
Your work for today is complete.
The weight you've been carrying can rest here.
Nothing else is required.
