Hi,
I'm Amy Wilson.
Thank you so much for joining me today for this pruning meditation.
In a little bit,
I'm going to ask you to visualize a garden that represents your life.
Then we're going to use some pruning shears to cut away some self-sabotaging habits.
Before we get started on that,
I want to ask you to find yourself in the present moment.
And to do that we simply need to focus on our breath.
So find yourself in a seated position,
Whether lying down or seated,
Upright,
It doesn't matter.
Go ahead and close your eyes.
And I invite you to take in a big inhale.
In a slow releasing exhale.
Do that a couple more times.
Big inhale.
I invite you to put your focus on your breath now.
Just breathing naturally.
Just notice what moves,
Whether it's your diaphragm or your belly or your lungs or your chest space.
Just bringing awareness to what's moving as you breathe.
As you inhale,
Notice where the air is coming into the body.
Whether through your nose or your mouth,
It doesn't matter.
Then noticing as it leaves your body.
Allowing it to bring a sense of calm as it brings you into the present moment.
You see focusing on your breath.
Is what brings us to presence.
So give your attention to your breath,
Noticing any temperature.
You're just giving it your awareness.
Now I invite you to visualize that garden we spoke of.
Imagine yourself in a serene,
Beautiful garden.
There's nobody there,
It's just you.
So this is your landscape,
This is your visualization.
It can be any type of garden you want it to be.
It can have arctic penguins.
It can have cacti from the desert.
It can have waterfalls.
It can be misty or luxurious with greenery.
Maybe there's birds or life in abundance.
Maybe it's really warm and dry.
It's up to you,
It's your landscape to envision.
But invite you to walk around your garden scape.
Look around.
This is your garden.
This is your representation of your mind.
So as you walk around this garden space,
Notice if there's anything in your path.
That's blocking you.
For personal growth.
Maybe there's even a doorway that simply says.
Back to personal growth.
Are there branches?
Is there overgrowth blocking this path to personal growth?
Maybe it's behaviors or thoughts that are hindering you.
It could be negative self-talk.
Overspending.
Be judging others,
Their parents.
Insecurities,
Maybe there's deep-rooted lies like that you are not deserving.
Could be in D.
Deep-rooted misconceptions,
Blocking your path to personal growth.
Deep-rooted misconceptions like you're not deserving.
You are deserving.
You are worthy.
All that you want.
Maybe you're constantly frustrated.
Things aren't going your way.
What is it that's in you?
What are those self-sabotaging behaviors?
Can you identify something?
Maybe it's anxiety or worry.
I invite you to take out those self-awareness pruning shears.
The only way to get through to your personal growth is to cut away what doesn't serve you.
So as you're standing there in your garden,
You have pruning shears that symbolize your self-awareness.
They symbolize your courage to make change in your life.
So as you're breathing naturally,
However is comfortable.
If I had to approach one of these tangled messes.
Identify just one self-sabotaging habit you want to cut away.
It could be negative self-talk.
It could be procrastination or any other behavior that no longer serves you.
Gently but firmly,
Using your pruning shears,
Cut away this branch.
Cut away this vine that's holding you back.
And as you are cutting away these branches,
I invite you to affirm to yourself,
Have I released this habit?
I release what no longer serves me.
And see that branch fall to the ground.
Fall away from me.
The path that you want to achieve.
The path to personal growth.
The path to positive changes.
Now if there's anything else that you need to prune,
That you need to cut away,
Go ahead.
This is your garden.
To maintain.
No judgment here.
There's one common denominator in this garden and that's you.
Because it's your garden to cultivate.
You have the power to make this garden however you want it to look.
Continue on your path,
Continue to walk around your garden.
Continue to prune what needs pruned.
Take your time here.
Deeply breathe in.
As you prune away these achievements or continue to breathe.
And as you continue to prune away what doesn't serve you,
I invite you to feel a sense of lightness coming in.
Be a lightness in the weight of the burden of these habits.
Or it could be literally light entering in the space where you pruned away the thickness that didn't serve you.
And as you make way.
.
.
What are these?
New Crosstown And as you cut away what doesn't serve you.
We are making way for new growth.
New healthier habits can form.
So I invite you to see this new growth emerging.
These new shoots,
They represent positive habits.
Positive self-talk.
Personal growth.
Self-awareness like none other ever experienced before.
You should make room for him too.
Things that bring you positivity.
You make way for new,
Nurturing,
Positive habits.
When you can say to yourself,
I am capable of growth and change.
I choose to nurture habits that support my highest good.
Gradually bring your awareness back to your breath.
Feeling the connection where you're seated or lying down.
Feel that connection between you.
The surface below you.
When you're ready and start to move your fingers or toes.
Take a few more deep breaths.
When you're ready,
You can start to open your eyes.
I invite you to carry this sense of renewal,
This sense of empowerment with you throughout your day.
Have a beautiful day.
