This humming exercise is inteded for stimulating Vagus nerve using power of human voice and vibration. By consciously using our voice and knowing how to create more space through relaxation of throat and chest, we can stimulate vagus nerve and switch our nervous system to parasympathetic "rest and digest" mode. This is one of the reasons why singing has such stress relieving and transformative effect, not only because of emotional involvement but also because of physiology which is breifly covered and explained in this somatic practice video.
