Okay,
So here's my little contemplation for today.
Does the world need it more what he does?
Now,
The reason why I'm questioning this is because I've been involved in the world of healing for quite a long time now,
Quite old now,
In the eyes of my children at least.
And so I can remember a time where Reiki was quite radical.
And even in London,
You needed to be prepared to travel to get to the right teacher.
And life is very different now,
Isn't it?
It's important for us to speak the truth always and to call out the silent encroachment when we see it.
And when you step onto social media now,
You're led to believe that possibly even every person,
If not every other person,
Is a healer waving certificates of this and that and touting a plethora of what sometimes sound like miracle cures.
And AI and create a better portrait of you,
A better logo for you.
Better you for you.
And this is where,
For me,
It starts to fall apart and where I feel that we need to see between the lines and embody the real space in between once more.
Because you see,
As always seems to happen in what we describe as the Western world,
The developed world.
I think we actually need to call this what it is,
Which is colonized.
We're led to believe that anything natural anything simple.
Anything I think.
Needs punishing.
It's perfect.
It's organizing.
The increasing.
But the reality is that nature does a fine job all by herself.
And as we are becoming increasingly aware,
It's actually our interventions and our attempts at improvement.
Which often are the issue.
I learned traditional Reiki about 20 years ago,
And I personally didn't enter into it with the intention of becoming a practitioner.
It was just part of my life path.
And as it often is for many people who continue to learn,
In fact.
Over time,
I've noticed that Reiki has become deeply colonized and organized and also fast-tracked too,
And what was once a system for personal and spiritual development,
Because it is spiritual development regardless of what anybody says,
This system is now churning out heat.
It's almost like a factory at the moment.
And my thing is it never has been about me.
How quickly you can recall your symbols or remember your hand positions.
And if your focus is on this,
You aren't healing,
Whether that be yourself or another person,
Because true healing is about being grounded.
About recognizing that we live in Earth,
Not on it.
It's about knowing your own energy and tuning into it and listening to it regularly.
This is about knowing who you truly are and what you're here to do,
Not in the sense of a job description or a modality,
But what your soul is here to experience.
It's about holding your alignment through truth.
Through a heart-centered connection and allowing energy to move.
Not trying to close off difficult experiences or gloss over the crag he gets.
But understanding them,
Embracing them as lessons,
As opportunities to stretch and work your spiritual muscle,
If you like.
It's not about calling out and criticizing others' expressions.
It's not about measuring yourself against somebody else's standard or structure.
And it's not about being so unfocused on success.
That you leave people who need you behind.
It's about understanding so you are a piece of the puzzle not the whole picture.
It's about accepting.
Whether you are a Baptist or not.
Gorgeous sky and it's about gathering together with other bits of grass.
Other bits of scuffling.
To build the picture.
And its power together in union.
It's about showing up and doing the best job that you can do of that.
And how do you do that?
You do it from healing yourself.
Through keeping on showing up.
Through cleaping down and clearing the debris.
Through continuing to listen back in.
Continuing to open your heart again and again,
Not in spite of the bad stuff,
Actually,
But because of the bad stuff.
Remember,
It's the grit that gives the oyster its shine.
This allowed me more haters.
To me,
This depends on whether you're using healing as an external label.
As a performance.
Or living it as a process.
And you know the answer to that.
I don't believe that the world needs more performances of healing.
I believe that the world needs more honest.
It bought it.
Ongoing evening,
Starting with us and from the inside.
And all it really needs is for you to give yourself permission to heal.
And to begin it now.
Wherever feels right.
Whereas it feels good.
And if you need support,
You know where to find me.
