Hello and welcome once again to saltwater stillness,

A mini drop of mindfulness maritime style.

Each meditation a simple way to steady the mind and bring a little calm to your day.

In this episode we'll consider dockside stillness.

So settle into a comfortable seat,

Close your eyes and take a steady breath.

Imagine you are a small boat tied safely at the dock.

The water beneath you is calm,

Gently rocking you with each breath.

As you inhale feel yourself lift ever so slightly and as you exhale feel yourself sink back down.

Rise and fall,

Inhale and exhale.

No effort,

No struggle.

Just floating with the rhythm of the harbour.

If thoughts come let them pass like the creak of ropes or the splash of a wave.

Part of the harbour soundscape but not something you need to follow.

Stay with this gentle rocking for a few more breaths.

Trust that the dock is steady and you are safe.

Rise and fall,

Inhale and exhale.

Float with the rhythm of the ocean.

And when you feel ready open your eyes and carry that dockside stillness into your day.

Lovely short meditation with the calming sounds of the water. Listened on a train to work, which helped with the gentle rocking movement! Thank you ⚓️
