Welcome to your birth visualization meditation.
Start by finding a comfortable position that can either be lying down if you are able to find some props or seated with your back supported and hands resting gently on your belly.
Then once you're comfortable allow your eyes to close.
Take a moment to just arrive.
You don't need to be anywhere else right now or doing anything else.
This time is for you and your baby.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Become aware of the natural rise and fall.
The way your belly,
Your ribs move with the inhale and how everything softens with your exhale.
Starting to deepen the breath slowly breathing in through your nose feeling through the chest,
The ribs,
The belly and exhaling through your mouth long and slow just letting everything go.
Again breathing in expanding deep into the belly and a side waist.
You're making space and as you exhale you're releasing,
You're softening,
You're letting go.
One more breath together in.
Let your breath slip into a normal lengthened rhythm and just bring your attention to the crown of your head.
Notice your scalp,
Forehead,
Space between your eyebrows,
The nape of the neck.
Allow it to soften.
Notice your jaw and allow your teeth to part slightly and just let your tongue drop away from the roof of your mouth.
Pay attention to your neck,
Your throat,
Your shoulders.
Allow them to drop.
Let them be heavy.
Allow that heaviness to creep down into your arms,
Your hands.
Feel the weight of them for a moment.
Your heart space.
Perhaps noticing your heart beating at steady rhythm.
Your body doing exactly what it knows how to do.
Dropping from your heart space.
Connecting into your baby,
Your belly.
Start to breathe with your baby.
Feel into this space.
Warm,
Inviting,
Nourishing,
Nurturing space that your body has created and nurtured perfectly.
Coming to your lower back and your hips.
Letting them be comfortable,
Open and soft.
And down to your legs,
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves,
Your whole body.
Heavy,
Relaxed,
Safe and held.
And allow yourself to visualize the moment labor begins.
Notice where you are.
What does this space look like?
Is it somewhere familiar?
Take it in slowly.
Notice the time of day,
The colors,
The light or darkness in the room.
Candles,
Fairy lights,
Or is there daylight?
Or is it darkness like in the middle of the night?
Still and quiet.
Notice how the air feels.
Temperature.
Is it warm or cool?
Any smells?
Any sounds?
Who's with you?
Is anyone there or are you having a moment to yourself?
Notice the comfort and safety that surrounds you in this space.
Notice how you feel in this moment.
Is it excitement?
Is it joy?
Is it all the things?
And give yourself a moment to jump forward a little in time when things getting a bit more intense.
Labor starting to progress,
The sensations of contractions and frequency is intensifying.
How are you moving?
How are you breathing?
How are you,
Your baby and your body working together?
How do you meet these moments and waves of intensity?
What is your physical body doing?
Think about your face,
Your shoulders,
Your pelvis,
Your breath.
Can you soften into the experience?
Allow your breath to lead you.
Trust that each contraction will build,
Peak and subside.
And it's in the space that you rest.
How are you visualizing yourself in that moment of rest?
What tools are you using?
Who's there beside you?
What words are they uttering?
How are you experiencing touch and support?
Do you feel called to try to take yourself right to your edge?
To your challenge moment when things might get a little intense?
How do you ride those waves of intensity?
Watch yourself move through that moment.
What do you think you need most?
Is it breath?
Is it sound?
Is it movement?
Is it an affirmation?
And perhaps you can go all the way to that moment when you meet your baby.
What does it feel like to draw your baby up and onto your chest?
To hear them make their first sound,
Their movements,
Their sweet smell.
The elation that comes from doing it your way.
Meeting this beautiful soul that's been growing as part of you all this time.
Take it in,
All of it.
Allow yourself to really feel the fullness of this moment.
You did it.
You,
Your body,
Your baby.
Stay here for as long as you need.
Whenever you're ready you bring yourself out of the meditation.
Perhaps writing down any points,
Any words,
Any phrases,
Anything that you may need to pass on to your support people.
Enjoy.
I hope you have a beautiful birth.
