A Prayer For Guidance & Instruction

This is an inspiring prayer of guidance and reflection. Life sometimes calls us to a place where we wish to seek guidance and instruction for next steps in our life decisions, such as: for our relationships, a new job or the next chapter of our lives. This prayer invokes Divine guidance for those times of indecision, reflection and query.

A prayer for guidance and instruction.

Psalm 25.

Unto thee,

O Lord,

Do I lift up my soul.

O my God,

I trust in thee.

Let me not be ashamed.

Let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea,

Let none that wait on thee be ashamed.

Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

Show me thy ways,

O Lord.

Teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth and teach me.

For thou art the God of my salvation.

On thee do I wait all the day.

Remember,

O Lord,

Thy tender mercies and thy loving kindness,

For they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth,

Nor my transgressions.

According to thy mercy,

Remember thou me for thy goodness sake,

O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord.

Therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

The meek will he guide in judgment,

And the meek will he teach his way.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,

Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

For thy name's sake,

O Lord,

Pardon mine iniquity,

For it is great.

What man is he that feareth the Lord?

Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

His soul shall dwell at ease,

And his seed shall inherit the earth.

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him,

And he will show them his covenant.

Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord,

For he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Turn thee unto me and have mercy upon me,

For I am desolate and afflicted.

The troubles of my heart are enlarged.

O bring thou me out of my distresses.

Look upon mine affliction and my pain,

And forgive all my sins.

Consider mine enemies,

For they are many,

And they hate me with cruel hatred.

O keep my soul and deliver me.

Let me not be ashamed,

For I put my trust in thee.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,

For I wait on thee.

Redeem Israel,

O God,

Out of all his troubles.

Most kind and compassionate Father,

We come to you thanking you for being God.

We thank you for your goodness,

Your kindness,

And your tender mercy.

We thank you for the opportunity that we can come before you boldly,

Before the throne of grace,

Where we can find rest for our weary souls.

Now God,

As we come to you asking you for guidance and direction for our lives,

We say thank you.

This decision that is before us,

Whether it be for a job,

For a relationship,

For the next chapter of our lives,

Whatever the direction might be,

We desire your instruction.

We ask you for guidance.

We ask you for wisdom.

We ask you for understanding.

We ask you for compassion.

We ask you for grace and mercy.

Lead our footsteps.

Lead us in the direction you would have us to go.

We don't have the direction.

We may be faced with many options.

And God,

Our desire is to go the way that you would want us to go.

Bless us with that right opportunity,

With the right job,

With the right home,

With the right opportunity,

With the right relationship.

Bless us with what is best for us.

Lead us,

Guide us,

Strengthen us.

Bless us with wisdom and understanding.

Clarity of thought,

Clarity of speech.

If it be for that meeting,

Go before us and lead the way.

Word our mouths with wisdom.

Give us clarity in our speech.

Help us to hear clearly.

Help us to see clearly.

Help us to see the truth of your Word.

We do not desire to make errors or poor judgment,

But we desire to be wise.

We desire to make the optimal decision according to your will.

We stand on your Holy Word.

We stand on our faith.

We stand confidently.

And we believe that all things are possible.

Thank you for the faith to believe.

Thank you for the courage to stand.

Thank you for allowing us to trust you in every decision.

Thank you for clarity.

Thank you for wisdom.

Thank you for understanding.

Thank you for new relationships,

New mergers as we're embracing that new business,

That adventure,

That difficult challenge,

That task that seems unbearable and surmountable.

God,

We trust you.

We depend on you and we take you at your word.

Thank you for hearing our prayers,

For direction and guidance.

Thank you for answering our prayers.

Remove every stumbling block.

Remove any barrier,

Any obstacle.

Remove everything that will create a distraction.

Grant us favor.

Grant us grace,

Mercy,

And peace.

Thank you for joy.

Thank you for the right decision.

Thank you for answered prayer.

Thank you for hearing,

For blessing,

And honoring.

We thank you for this opportunity to come before you by faith.

Thank you for being able to stand on your Holy Word.

Thank you for your love towards us.

Keep us in your care and we will be careful to give you all of the glory,

All of the honor,

The credit,

And the praise.

In the name of Jesus,
