Night Time Prayer for Rest

This is Night Time Prayer For Rest is a Psalm and Prayer for Divine protection, comfort and peace.

A prayer of gratitude before going to sleep.

Psalm 4.

Hear me when I call,

O God of my righteousness.

Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress.

Have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.

O ye sons of men,

How long will ye turn my glory into shame?

How long will ye love vanity and seek after leasing?

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself.

The Lord will hear when I call unto him.

Stand in awe and sin not.

Commune with your own heart upon your bed and be still,

Sila.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord.

There be many that say,

Who shall show us any good?

Lord,

Lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Thou has put gladness in my heart more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

I will both lay me down in peace and sleep,

For thou,

Lord,

Only makest me dwell in safety.

Our most kind and righteous and eternal Father,

We bless you for this day.

Thank you for your covering.

Thank you for your strength.

Thank you for a presence of mind.

Thank you for love.

Thank you for all of the challenges that you have allowed.

Thank you for your blessings,

Your goodness,

Your kindness,

And your tender mercy.

Thank you for your grace and your peace.

Thank you for faith.

Now as we have come to the close of another day,

We ask you for your divine protection as we lay down to sleep.

Keep us safe in the pavilion of your love.

Hold us,

O God,

In the presence of your will.

Keep us safe in the center of your hands as we rest.

Keep us safe from danger,

Harm,

Adversity,

Seen and unseen.

Cover us under your divine will.

Keep us in the center of your focus.

Lord,

As we rest,

Help us to rest our minds,

Our bodies.

Help us to rest everything about us.

Rest from anxiety.

Rest from stress.

Rest from ill thoughts.

Rest from trouble.

Protect not only us,

But our family,

Our friends,

Our loved ones,

Our neighborhood,

Our community.

Protect our families abroad,

In other cities,

In other states,

In other countries.

Protect our loved ones from fear,

From harm,

From hurt,

Or from danger.

Protect everything that you have blessed us with.

Keep our homes.

Keep our cars safe,

Our automobiles.

Keep everything that you have blessed us with.

Keep your angels guard around our souls,

Our minds,

Our bodies.

Cause us to relax and to release ourselves into your care.

Bless us with strength and courage.

Wake us in the morning refreshed,

Renewed,

Restored.

We love you because you are God.

We thank you for being our Lord,

Our protector,

Our healer,

Our guide,

Our strength,

Our courage.

Thank you for the presence of mind.

Thank you for the opportunity to come to you boldly,

To show gratitude and appreciation for another day.

If it had not been for your goodness,

If it had not been for your grace,

We would not have made it.

Thank you for today.

Thank you for showing us love.

Thank you for teaching us lessons.

Thank you for allowing us to show love to others.

Thank you for blessing us with food to eat.

Thank you for blessing us with clothing.

Thank you for blessing us with our jobs.

Thank you for blessing us with provision and opportunities to grow.

Forgive us of any wrong that we have done in your sight.

If we hurt anyone,

If we spoke out of your will,

Forgive us.

Help us to grow.

Help us to love.

Help us to treat others kindly.

Help us to treat others with compassion.

Thank you for this day.

Where there is fear,

Remove all fear.

Where there is doubt,

Remove all doubt.

Bless us and we will be grateful.

Thank you for this moment to be able to call on you,

God.

Thank you for the awareness of knowing that we can come to you,

Cry out to you,

Call upon your name and you will answer.

Bless our bodies to rest.

Bless our minds.

Bless our spirits.

Bless our soul and help us.
