This meditation guides you through the first moments after waking - that threshold between sleep and the day ahead. Using progressive sensory awareness, it helps you transition from rest to wakefulness in a grounded, gentle way. Rather than rushing into the day, you'll move slowly through your senses: noticing weight, temperature, breath, sound, scent, taste, and eventually sight. The practice includes a moment of self-compassion as you gently hold your own face. With regular practice, this meditation supports nervous system regulation, reduces the morning cortisol spike common in busy lives, and builds interoceptive awareness - your capacity to sense what's happening inside your body. It grounds you before mental reactivity takes over, setting a calm foundation for whatever the day holds.
