Raga Durga – Part 2: Rhythm, Kirtan & Goddess Mantra
by Shivam Rath
Join multi-instrumentalist, yoga teacher, and Indian classical musician Shivam Rath for the second part of this immersive Raga Flow in Raga Durga, featuring the Crystal Slide (Chaturangi) Guitar and live electronic tabla loops. Following the spacious, rhythm-free exploration in Part 1, this session allows the Raga to come alive through rhythm, Tala and a more structured kirtan-style composition. The Goddess mantra is woven into the composition, allowing the voice and melody to become a shared experience of repetition, rhythm and resonance. Raga Durga carries a luminous and devotional quality, traditionally associated with strength, grace and the divine feminine. Here, the structure of Indian Classical Raga meets the accessible, participatory spirit of Kirtan, creating space to sing, listen, move with the rhythm and simply enjoy the vibrations of sound. Whether you are familiar with Indian music or completely new to Raga, you are invited to join the flow.
