In this meditative journey, you will be guided back in time to meet an ancestral guide. Connecting with your ancestors is an important step in becoming more grounded and rooted in your healing journey. During this meditation, you will be provided with questions and prompts, followed by a period of silence to allow for your visions to arise. You will emerge from this session with expanded insight, gifts, and tools left to you by your lineage. I recommend listening to this meditation with headphones for an enhanced sound experience.

I invite you to find a comfortable seated position where you may prefer to lay down for this practice.

Get settled into the surface beneath you.

Close your eyes and take in a long,

Deep,

Healing breath.

Inhale from your stomach up into your chest and release the breath as you let go of any worries,

Concerns,

Or thoughts.

Drifting down now into a soothing state of serenity as your breathing slows,

Easily and naturally,

Exhaling anything unlike peace and calm,

Feeling centered,

Present,

Aware as you rest into the stillness,

The stillness within.

Into relaxation with all senses soothed,

Drifting deeper into the imagination.

Here you become aware that there's an important connection between you and an ancestor who shares your DNA.

You might have been told about this person,

Know little about them,

Or simply imagine them,

Yet they are a part of you.

Going deeper into your imaginal world through the veil of time,

You gently move back to meet this ancestor in their land,

In their time.

Where do you find yourself?

Look around.

What do you see here and sense?

Here in front of you appears your ancestor.

How are they dressed?

Notice their build,

Their face,

And their eyes.

What do you see in their eyes?

Greet your ancestor in whatever way feels appropriate.

What is your first impression of them?

Ask your ancestor,

What kind of life have you lived?

What were your goals and dreams?

Ask them if they realized their dreams.

What qualities do you feel this relative has?

What qualities do you share?

What life lesson do you share?

Ask them what qualities and values they would like you to carry forward for your lineage.

Ask them what they feel you need to release for the healing of your lineage.

Tell your ancestor what they have done that you are grateful for.

Allow your ancestor to tell you what they admire about you.

Thank your ancestor in whatever way you choose and say goodbye,

Knowing you can always connect with them at another time.

And now,

Beginning to return to the present,

Bringing back the information you received with greater understanding,

Thankful to your ancestors for their strengths and sacrifice,

Grateful for their mistakes and the lessons they received and passed on,

Honoring the past and thankful for the present and all its possibilities,

Becoming more and more aware as I count up one and two,

Feeling the surface beneath you,

Feeling grounded in the here and now,

Counting three,

Beginning to wiggle your fingers and toes,

Stretching your limbs,

Counting four,

And opening your eyes on the count of five,

Relaxed and renewed,

Ready to continue down your path of healing.
