Namaste and thank you for being here.
Welcome to this meditation where we breathe and sit with any strong heavy feelings that we may otherwise be avoiding.
Sometimes there's trauma on the brain,
On the mind,
On the body.
I recently did a talk about ancestral trauma specifically.
I feel that it is something that we should talk about more.
I won't make this meditation all about that.
However,
I invite those who are living it,
Those who may be learning about it,
Those who may not understand it or even believe that it exists.
I'd like to invite you to sit with your understanding of maybe what trauma is,
Maybe what suffering might look like to you in your life,
And maybe even what it might look like to someone else's life.
Today I invite you to sit with information that is coming from your body,
That is coming from your environment,
That is coming from your socioeconomic community,
Whether it is your same street,
Whether it is your co-workers,
Whether it is something you do in your everyday life.
A group of people,
A group of individuals.
From different walks of life,
From similar walks of life.
I'd like you to sit with the information that comes from these different facets these different areas of your life and of the world that we see as something that we don't talk about we just do.
Things that we see as easy or as hard.
Things that are routine.
I invite you to challenge your views on how you understand the world around you.
Without further ado,
Find yourself sitting or laying in a comfortable position of dignity where your spine can be long.
Whether you're choosing to think about something that is more difficult to sit with,
To try to understand,
Or something that is just hard on you in the moment.
I invite you to take a deep breath in through your nose.
Long,
Slow breath out.
Full breath in.
Slow breath out.
Noticing your inhales and how your body expands.
Noticing your exhales and how your body softens.
Inhale,
Feeling bigger.
Exhaling,
Feeling smaller.
Inhale,
Inviting new breath,
New energy into your physical body.
Exhale.
Feel tension exit the body.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Find softness throughout your whole body.
The top of your head.
The muscles in your face.
The space between your shoulders.
And down your arms.
Across your stomach.
In the front of your hips.
The back of your hips.
Down each leg.
Two feet.
Feel your body rise and fall with each inhale.
And each exhale.
Feel your body rise and fall with each exhale.
Notice your thoughts come and go.
With each breath in.
And each breath out.
Notice how your body responds to each thought.
Feel each thought come and go as you breathe in.
And uh Breathe in deeply through your nose.
And breathe out.
Feel your whole body as you notice the thoughts you're thinking.
The breath you're breathing.
Notice how your body feels as you think this thought.
Take another full breath in through your nose.
Full breath out.
Start to bring gentle movements back to your body.
Bring awareness back to your body.
Awareness to your breathing.
Open and close your hands.
Turn your head left and right very slowly.
Point and flex your toes.
Feel the weight of your legs again.
Shrug your shoulders.
Reach your arms above your head as you stretch your toes away from your fingertips.
Start to bring your body back to the space that you're in,
Back to a place where you can move on with your day or your evening.
Thank you so much again for joining me.
Om shanti shanti shanti hi.
Om peace,
Peace,
Peace.
Bye for now.
