This exercise in breathing is to balance the mind as you head toward a focused, balanced task. The mind can feel stuck and in need of a boost in creativity, this practice is a great way to engage the mind and connect to the breath in a, somewhat, unique way.

Hi friends.

Whether you're getting ready for the day,

Or you need to prepare for a meeting,

An exam,

Or just a difficult conversation you know is coming up,

Let's take a few moments to allow the brain,

The mind,

The body,

The energy to rebalance.

Find a comfortable way to sit or lay.

This might be a better exercise done sitting upright,

But you can safely lay down on your back to complete this exercise.

Start by taking a few cleansing breaths in through your nose.

Slowly sigh it out through the mouth.

Two more.

Inhale.

Sigh it out.

Last one.

Continue to notice a natural breathing for just a few more moments.

Take your left hand,

Put the thumb of your hand on top of your left nostril.

Leave the right nostril open.

Take a few breaths in and out through your right nostril.

Slowly breathe in,

And then breathe out.

All from your right nostril only.

Just a few more.

Last two breaths here.

In and out through the right side.

Release your left thumb.

Let a full breath come in and out through your nose.

Take your right thumb to the right side of the nose.

Plug the right nostril in and out through the left side.

Just a few more.

Take one or two more breaths in and out through your left nostril.

Just notice how it feels to only be breathing out of one side for just another breath or two.

Release the right nostril.

Take a full breath in through both nostrils.

Full breath out.

And just take a few more with both sides of the nose completely open again.

The left brain being the brain for logic and language and understanding.

Where your right brain is more creative,

Intuitive.

And now you can move forward with both sides of the brain working together just a little bit stronger in the next few moments and in the moments to follow.

Just being mindful,

Being intentional about finding your breath and really finding that equilibrium along the way.

So as you take a few more breaths in and out through your nose,

Just recognize how this practice can help you.

At any point in time during your day,

As you prepare for any big moments and try to reduce the anxieties that come up,

The extra thoughts,

The invasive thoughts,

The limiting beliefs,

Allow your mind and body just to reset,

To allow you to focus and really get into your creative mind.

Thank you for joining me.
