Greetings.
Welcome to this guided meditation on the anxiety around the beginning of the week.
As I was writing this meditation it kind of occurred to me that really we can consider it a meditation or you know a practice to be prepared for really anything.
And when I think of Monday specifically I feel like my mind,
My body,
I already have a job that I'm already behind for.
My to-do list is longer than it was when I last saw it.
And what I have found is that it can be helpful in those moments if I stop to think you know what do I need or what do I want to have done that can help me feel more prepared.
Whether or not I actually need to be prepared.
What can help the day feel less stressful?
Can I pack my lunch?
Can I pack the car?
Can I journal?
Can I maybe drink some tea or cacao to soothe my nervous system and be ready to help my family when it's time for us to get our day started.
And usually the answer is yeah.
There's probably something I can do and maybe there's a little bit of time for me to do it that I'm not considering.
I might be ready to make an excuse.
I am human.
I have found that I can can really fill my time with other necessary things but it can still be things that cause me to be avoidant to you know being a little bit more prepared for the day to come.
And so one of the bigger lessons that I've learned from that really is that there's almost always that time.
It can be tough.
It just is you know as humans even if we're only responsible for ourself and our space or if we have roommates if we have a partner or partners we have kids pets you know there may still be a struggle with creating that space and finding it but if we look we'll find that there might be some time just lingering waiting on us to to utilize it and be more intentional and productive.
So with that being said get yourself comfortable.
Shrug your shoulders.
Roll your head around.
Reverse that circle or half circle.
Find your breath and notice it.
Observe any movement in the body or any stillness.
Can you hear your breath?
Can you hear any other sounds?
If your eyes are open can you see anything?
If they're closed is there anything you can envision or see under the closed eyelids?
If you haven't already on your next exhale close your eyes.
Close your eyes.
Feel yourself shift.
Maybe you feel an energy shift like stepping through a portal.
Feel your body settle your energy settle.
Observe what your thoughts are drawn to.
Is it a sensation?
Are you observing something?
Bring your attention to gravity grounding you into place.
And as you think gravity also feel a sense of lightness.
Your eyelids might reflect light.
Your body is light.
Head.
Your thoughts are light.
Your energy is light.
Peaceful.
On your next inhale think about something you need to do.
Let your mind think of all the things that come with this.
As you exhale imagine that this task or this project is easy.
You can do it with your eyes closed.
If you have a team imagine that you and your fabulous team have gotten the job done with little to no issues whatsoever.
Imagine having unlimited and uninterrupted time.
Inhale gratitude for the skills that you possess to handle whatever this task is.
Exhale thoughts of complaining,
Imposter syndrome.
As you take the next breath in really feel the belly.
Ribs expand.
Feel the heart lift.
Shoulders release down the back.
As you exhale belly pulls in.
Ribs hug in.
Giving the body a little hug.
Shoulders soften even more.
As you breathe in fully take in.
Entire practice.
As you exhale release anything that is limiting your mind from the belief that you are capable.
Take another breath in.
Exhale repeat I am ready for whatever comes my way.
I am ready for whatever comes my way.
I am ready for whatever comes my way.
Take a deep breath in.
Lift the shoulders toward the ears.
Release.
Soften the shoulders.
Take a few neck circles or half circles.
Exhale chin comes to heart.
Inhale bring your head to neutral.
If you're ready and you haven't already,
Flutter your eyes open.
As you move through your day or your evening remind yourself that you are ready for the week ahead,
For the day ahead,
For the next day ahead.
If you think of anything that you can do,
If you can write it down,
Maybe if you can do it in that moment,
Give yourself that opportunity to feel prepared.
To feel that satisfaction of not feeling behind or like you're always catching up.
Thank you for joining me.
