In particular in sobriety.
This is a sacred space where you can reconnect with your heart,
Release patterns that no longer serve you,
And nurture the incredible resilience within you.
I want you to take a deep breath in and gently let it out.
Feel your body settle into the present moment,
Knowing that you are safe,
Supported,
And exactly where you need to be.
Let's begin by grounding.
I want you to imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet,
Reaching deep into the earth.
With every breath,
Feel a steady grounding energy rising from the earth into your body.
As you inhale,
Invite calm and clarity.
As you exhale,
Release tension and anything that's weighing you down.
Repeat silently or aloud,
I am grounded.
I am safe.
I am free to heal.
Now,
Gently bring your attention to your heart centre,
The space in the middle of your chest.
Place a hand over your heart if it feels comfortable.
Then take a deep breath and just notice the rhythm of your heartbeat.
Padum,
Padum.
Know that your heart is more than a physical organ.
It has a memory,
An intelligence,
A wisdom of its own.
Silently affirm,
My heart remembers who I truly am.
Allow yourself to feel right into this truth that your heart holds the strength to heal old patterns and release what no longer serves you.
Codependency and addiction can create a toxic bond,
A loop of seeking outside yourself for fulfilment.
Visualise this bond now as a cord connecting you to something or someone that no longer aligns with your healing.
In your mind's eye,
Gently place your hands over this cord.
Feel its weight,
Its pull and acknowledge its impact on your life.
Now,
Imagine a soft golden light radiating from your heart.
This light grows brighter with every breath,
Filling you with love and compassion.
As this light expands,
It begins to dissolve the toxic cord,
Freeing you from its grip.
Silently repeat,
I release what no longer serves me.
I am whole on my own.
Feel the light surrounding you,
Protecting you and reconnecting you to your true self.
Now,
Take a moment to honour the strength and courage it takes to walk the path of sobriety and healing.
Silently or aloud,
Repeat these affirmations.
I am worthy of love and respect.
I trust my heart to guide me in truth and wisdom.
I am enough,
Exactly as I am.
Let each word sink into your heart,
Planting seeds of self-love and resilience.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
I want you to slowly bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel your feet on the ground,
Your breath in your chest and the strength of your heart within.
Take one more deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine yourself stepping into the rest of your day lighter,
Freer and more connected to your authentic self.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes and return to the present moment.
