Take a slow inhale through your nose.
Hold gently for as long as you can.
And exhale fully through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale deeply,
Welcoming light and ease.
And exhale,
Letting go of heaviness.
Each breath is a chance to begin again.
Just as you exhale to release pressure from the body,
Forgiveness allows you to release the pressures and burdens of the heart.
Breathe in deeply.
And breathe out,
Letting go of what no longer serves you.
Forgiveness is the greatest gift of compassion that you give to yourself.
Now bring to mind a situation or memory that is weighed on you.
Imagine it out in front of you,
Far enough away that you feel safe,
Like a small picture on a screen.
You're only observing.
As you breathe in,
Whisper this ho'oponopono prayer.
I'm sorry.
As you breathe out,
Whisper,
Please forgive me.
And inhale,
Thank you.
And exhale,
I love you.
Continue breathing with these words and allow the memory to soften,
To loosen,
To dissolve.
Take another deep breath in.
Hold.
And exhale fully.
Again,
Breathing in gently,
Gathering all that you are ready to release.
And breathe out,
Letting it go completely.
Forgiveness is like the exhale,
A clearing,
A lightening,
A freedom.
Repeat this ho'oponopono prayer again.

Take a final deep inhale,
Filling with light.
