Welcome.
There are moments in life when words cannot take away our pain.
Yet they can remind us that we are never alone.
In the Hebrew tradition,
There is an ancient prayer called Misha Beirach.
For generations,
It has been offered for those in need of healing.
Of body,
Mind,
Heart,
And spirit.
You don't need to know Hebrew to receive its blessing.
Simply allow yourself to listen.
Take a slow breath in and gently let it go.
Again.
Slow breath in.
And a slower breath out.
If it feels right,
Bring to mind someone.
In need of healing.
Perhaps that someone is you.
Listen now to these ancient words.
Misha b'erach avoteinu v'imoteinu.
Où y verrez-t-il?
Hacholeh.
V'yishlach lo rifua shlema.
Their blessing is this.
May the one who blessed our ancestors bless the one who is ill and send complete healing.
Healing is not always the absence of illness.
Sometimes healing is peace.
Sometimes healing is courage.
Sometimes healing is simply knowing we are held in love.
Take another slow breath.
As you inhale,
Receive compassion.
As you exhale,
Soften around whatever you have been carrying.
Notice your breath.
Your heartbeat.
The quiet wisdom already living within you.
If you are holding someone in your heart,
Imagine surrounding them with warmth.
Light.
And lovingkindness.
Silently repeat.
Refuah Shlema.
Complete healing.
Again.
Refua.
Shlema.
Allow those words to settle within you.
Like a blessing.
Like a gentle light.
Like hope carried on the breath.
Take one final deep breath.
May healing come where healing is needed.
May strength arise where strength is needed.
And may peace accompany every step of your journey.
Refuah Shlema May this ancient prayer continue to echo gently.
Within your heart.
Go gently.
