Welcome.
Financial stress isn't just mental numbers.
It can often show up as a tight chest,
A headache,
Knotted gut,
Shallow breath,
Just to name a few,
And there are others.
This practice helps your body release money fear through gentle movement and grounding.
I invite you to find a comfortable seat or lie down,
Whatever is your practice.
If seated,
Feet flat,
Perhaps hands on lap.
And if lying down,
Feeling the connection beneath you as you lengthen your spine and put your hands and arms wherever they're most comfortable.
And soften your shoulders,
Pulling them away from your ear,
Lowering them.
And then observe your breath.
No need to change it.
Just observing as you settle in.
Feeling whatever is supporting you.
Now I invite you to take three slow breaths.
Inhaling to the count of four and exhaling out the mouth through the count of six or eight.
Let us begin.
Inhale through the nose,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale out through the mouth,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Eight.
Again,
And you can play with those numbers.
Point of having your inhale be shorter than your exhale,
Trying for that exhale to be a little bit longer than the inhale.
Let's begin again.
Inhale through the nose,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhaling out through the mouth,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Eight.
Now you will do this on your own for a couple of rounds.
Begin.
Reminding yourself to have your exhales longer than your inhales.
Whatever numbers make sense to you.
And returning back to your normal breathing pattern whenever you are ready.
Financial worry lives in specific spots.
Let's try to find yours.
Look at the chest and heart area.
Do you notice any tightness,
Pressure,
Rapid heartbeat?
Money fear often contracts here.
Breathe into the chest.
Let your breath help to soothe and ease.
As you're breathing in,
Perhaps placing a hand across your heart,
Your heart area,
Feeling your chest rising and falling,
Expanding with each inhale.
And just taking a moment,
Settling there,
Observing,
Welcoming softness and release.
Just breathing into your chest.
And now I invite you to move to the solar plexus,
Your gut area.
Often feeling gripping or nausea,
Butterflies.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Feeling your belly rising on the inhale,
Releasing on the exhale.
And if it feels okay,
Placing a hand on your belly,
Breathing into it,
And releasing on the exhale.
The gut area,
Often an area that troubles people.
This gripping or nauseous feeling,
Butterflies.
And you're just breathing in,
Expanding that belly.
And now moving to the pelvis and hip area,
Where often there's a heaviness or stuckness.
Just allow yourself to gently rock from side to side,
Your hips moving from side to side.
And just letting yourself be in and out of the moment.
Gentle rocking,
You're breathing in and out.
Next,
I invite you to place your hands on your knees and circle your hips clockwise,
Moving your knees in that clockwise position if you're seated.
And if you're lying down,
Just moving them.
I'm gonna do that five times,
Just moving your circle hips clockwise.
Just noticing any stuck energy,
Allowing it to release.
Remember,
Hands on knees.
You're making circles,
Circles with your knees,
As this allows your hips to release.
Now I invite you to reverse,
To go into counterclockwise.
Hands on the knees,
Moving in circles.
I now invite you to cross your arms,
Crossing your arms across your chest.
And then tap your opposite shoulder alternatively.
Doesn't matter which one you start with.
Tapping one side with the opposite hand on your shoulder.
This helps to calm any racing thoughts.
And then moving to the other side and tapping.
Tapping that shoulder.
Now I invite you to tap,
Alternating each side,
Beginning with one side,
Tap,
Move to the next side,
Tap,
Tapping those shoulders,
Switching side to side.
I now invite you to rub your hands together briskly,
Warming them up.
As quick as you can to build up that heat,
That warmth,
Feeling the warmth and capability returning to your hands.
And now I invite you to place those warm hands on your heart or gut area.
And visualize money as flowing energy,
Not the scarce enemy.
Energy that flows like that from the heat of your hands to your heart or gut area.
I invite you to inhale,
Drawing it,
Saying,
This is enough.
I have enough.
And then exhale,
Releasing,
Releasing the gripping scarcity mindset.
On the inhale,
Drawing in the energy of enoughness.
And then exhaling and releasing the gripping scarcity mindset.
Doing this a few more times at your own pace.
On the inhale,
Drawing in the I have enough mindset.
And then on the exhale,
Releasing the gripping and scarcity mindset.
And putting your hand on your heart,
Repeating after me,
Money flows to me and through me.
I am resourceful.
Let's repeat that silently or out loud.
Money flows to me and through me.
I am resourceful.
Money flows to me and through me.
I am resourceful.
Picturing that.
Resting in that.
And as you're picturing this energy of money coming to you,
I invite you to name one small money action that you will take next.
Next step,
Either checking your balance or calling a creditor,
Reviewing your budget.
You decide what small money action that you can take.
Perhaps eating in instead of eating out.
Doesn't have to be anything big.
You're in control.
Feel the capability in your hands and in your heart area.
When ready,
I invite you to add movement back into your body,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Rolling your shoulders.
If your eyes are closed,
Gently opening them when you're ready.
You can take a deep breath.
You can return to this practice anytime money stress contracts your body.
These tools rebuild safety around flow and remembering the energy that you can have calling to you and through you.
