Greetings.
I'm so glad that you're here.
I'm Alexis Brightman,
And this meditation is a gentle invitation to remember that no matter how far you've wandered,
You can always find your way back home.
Home to your body,
Home to your breath,
And home to the steady presence that's been waiting for you all along.
Wherever you are right now,
Allow yourself to arrive.
You don't need to become anything.
You don't need to fix,
Prove,
Or perform.
You only need to come home to the quiet space within you that has been patiently waiting.
Let's begin with your breath.
Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of four.
Hold for two,
And exhale softly through your mouth for six.
Again,
Inhale for four,
Filling your belly.
Hold for two,
Exhale for six.
With each breath,
Feel yourself softening,
Arriving a little more fully in this moment.
This is where we begin.
As you breathe,
Notice the subtle truth that no matter how far you've wandered into worry,
Into striving,
Into the noise of the world,
You can always return here.
There is a home within you that never moves.
It doesn't judge where you've been.
It doesn't measure how long you've been away.
It simply opens the door when you arrive.
Take a deep inhale for four,
Hold for two,
Exhale for six.
Feel the weight of the day begin to settle.
Maybe you've been stretching yourself thin,
Trying to meet expectations,
Trying to be enough,
Trying to stay afloat.
You can set all of that down for a moment.
You've carried so much.
It's okay to rest.
Breathe in,
I am here.
Breathe out,
I am home.
Now let's explore some of the ways we drift away from ourselves.
Sometimes we drift,
When we start comparing our path to someone else's,
Believing we're behind or not enough.
Sometimes we drift when we silence our truth to keep the peace,
To protect the comfort of others,
To stay loved.
Sometimes we drift when grief moves through us,
When loss feels too heavy and our heart retreats for safety.
And sometimes we drift simply because life is loud,
And we forget the sound of our own inner voice.
There is no need for shame.
Every journey away from yourself is also an invitation to return.
Inhale for four,
Hold for two,
Exhale for six.
You don't have to fight your way back.
You only have to remember that you were never truly lost.
You might whisper softly to yourself,
I'm still here.
I have always been here.
Even when I forget,
I remain.
Let those words land gently in your heart.
If emotions arise,
A lump in your throat,
A tightness in your chest,
A soft ache behind your eyes,
Let them.
This is what coming home feels like.
Not perfect,
But honest,
Present,
Alive.
Take another deep breath in for four,
Hold for two,
Exhale for six.
You are safe to return.
You are safe to soften.
You are safe to be here.
As we close,
Let your breath become your compass,
Each inhale guiding you inward,
Each exhale releasing what keeps you from yourself.
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are arriving.
And that is enough.
When you're ready,
Place a hand over your heart.
Feel its steady rhythm,
The sound of your own becoming.
Inhale for four,
Hold for two,
Exhale for six.
Breathe in,
I return.
Breathe out,
I am home.
And if you forget,
Because we all do,
Know that home is never far.
It's waiting,
Quietly,
Faithfully,
Within you.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
May you carry the feeling of home with you into your day,
Into your relationships,
And into your becoming.
Until next time,
Be well.
