Welcome to Moving Meditation.
This is a repeating 12-step sequence.
Designed to build connection between your mind and your body.
In this first lesson,
You'll learn and practice the first eight steps in the sequence.
This practice is designed for anyone seeking greater harmony between mind and body.
This is a guided practice,
So be sure you're wearing comfortable clothing and supportive footwear.
I'll guide you through each step and then we'll practice the sequence repeatedly,
Allowing your mind to become familiar and your body to absorb the movement pattern.
So if you're ready.
Let's begin.
Begin with your weight on both feet.
Arms by your side with palms facing in.
Set your gaze at eye level.
Step 1.
Raise your arms vertically,
Extend through fingertips,
Palms facing in.
Step two,
Keeping your chin level,
Let your gaze find your hands.
Step three,
Palms rotate out.
Step four,
Synchronize the descent of your arms with the bending of your knees.
Let the air support your arms as they float down.
Keep your knees in line with toes.
Step five,
Bend your elbows at the waist,
Rotating the palms up.
Without tucking your chin,
Let your gaze rest on the palms of your hands.
And settle.
Step 6.
Knees straighten,
Palms close,
And elbows slide back,
As if opening a drawer.
Gaze forward.
Step 7.
Step the right foot forward into a deep bend.
Lift the back heel high,
Pressing through the ball of the foot.
Float both arms straight forward,
Palms facing up.
Step 8.
Bring your left foot to meet your right as you open your arms wide,
Expanding through your chest.
As your palms rotate facing forward.
Now let's practice those first eight counts repeatedly.
To solidify the flow.
When the movement has become familiar and your muscle memory carries the pattern with ease,
Hear these words.
From St.
Paul.
As you continue the movement,
Notice the contrast between now and then.
For now.
We see through glass darkly.
But then.
.
.
Face to face.
For now.
We see through glass darkly.
But then.
.
.
Face to face.
In Lesson 2,
We will complete the 12-count sequence and begin practicing it as one continuous flow.
For now.
Deepen your practice of these first eight steps.
Give your body time to absorb these movements.
Strong foundation in these first eight steps.
Will allow the complete sequence to unfold with greater ease.
Confidence and presence.
For now.
We see through glass darkly.
But then.
.
.
Face to face.
