A Mindful Jewish Moment For Truth. This short meditation is a perfect way to start the day, take a quick break during work, or do a quick reset. This practice can also be used at the beginning of a longer silent sit. This practice begins with a very short teaching from Jewish sources and continues with brief instruction.

The Chafetz Chaim taught,

One who brings to mind their mortality,

The truth of impermanence,

And the transitory nature of existence is not deceived by the seeming demands of time.

Truth is our greatest teacher when we understand that impermanence is the truest thing we can know.

Rest your eyes relaxing body and breath.

Resting the mind in the knowledge of what is true in this moment as it is passing.

All things change.

All beings cease to exist.

Everything is transitory,

Constantly shifting.

Take this breath knowing that each breath is a new and completely different one than the one that preceded.

Try to stay present with each inhalation and exhalation.
