A Mindful Jewish Moment For Awe. This short meditation is a perfect way to start the day, take a quick break during work, or do a quick reset. This practice can also be used at the beginning of a longer silent sit. This practice begins with a very short teaching from Jewish sources and continues with brief instruction.

Transcript

Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel taught,

Awe is more than an emotion.

It is a way of understanding.

Insight into a meaning greater than ourselves.

The beginning of awe is wonder and the beginning of wisdom is awe.

Rest your eyes relaxing body and breath.

Breathe in checking in and noticing your current emotional state.

Breathe out letting go.

Breathe in with wonder and amazement for the mere act of breathing.

Breathe out letting go.

Breathe in inviting the wisdom that comes with awareness.

Breathe out letting go.
