The seer of Lublin taught,

When someone does chesed,

Practicing compassion for another,

The doer is made small in his own eyes,

Becoming humble.

Our ancestor Jacob became anxious.

Our text says that in his fear he split the people into two camps.

After this act of divisiveness,

He turned to humility,

Recognizing that faith and hope,

Rather than fear,

Would move him along on his journey,

And he was humbled and made small by this.

Rest your eyes,

Relaxing body and breath.

As we breathe,

We often focus on inhalation and exhalation.

Today,

Notice the embodied unity within yourself,

Just noticing breath,

Rather than breaking it down into components.

Bring this sense of unity and cohesion into your interactions today.
