So imagining the mind as a.
.
.
Body of water.
Not just the mind,
But also the heart.
Belly.
The whole body.
Even the world.
So bodies of water can carry vibrations.
Patterns of waves.
Sometimes turbulent and chaotic.
Sometimes organized and directed.
So experience is a.
Continual series of vibrational patterns.
As we experience thoughts and feelings.
Feelings and respond to environmental noises and changes.
Neuroscience has shown that the interactions of neurons change.
Collections of hundreds of millions of them.
Form wave-like patterns of activation.
Sometimes directed.
Stable and relatively organized.
Other times chaotic.
Rapidly changing.
So our experiences.
Served.
To us,
Developed for us.
Are these bodies?
And they're wave-like.
Capacities.
Their ability to carry vibrations.
Rather than thinking these are my thoughts,
This is.
My body,
I'm creating this reality.
I need to get a handle on it.
Just resting back in awareness.
So that each new sound,
Each new thought,
Can be like a pebble.
Proper.
Into the waters of body and mind.
Even if that feels too vague.
Lacking focus.
You can orient to changes in the environment.
As they arise.
But you can also orient to the steady wave-like motion of breath.
We're following the breath.
In open ocean,
There are often large swells.
The pass under the boat.
So it goes up and down.
It's rather like the breath.
But those large swells also have ripples and patterns.
Bird splashes,
Pelicans dive.
Swirls and eddies as breezes blow.
Just noticing all the different vibrations of experience.
Instant by instant.
The equations used to model the behavior and the interactions of brain cells.
Are the same equations used to model fluid flow,
Wave action,
Turbulence.
So letting your whole experience be an ocean.
Just notice all the ripples and patterns.
The little pans.
The quirky thoughts.
The judgments.
The flushes of warmth and pleasure.
Maybe even noticing how wondrous.
Almost sacred it is.
To be alive and aware.
Of all this life inside.
It's constant vibrating.
Sensitive and responsive body.
This mysterious mind.
So I'll quit.
Contributing to the experience.
Just invite you to.
Use the rise and fall,
Those large swells of breath.
As a way to orient.
As you appreciate and savor.
This ever-changing,
Ever-vibrating.
Flow of life.
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations.
Pleasures,
Pains.
Insights.
Just be.
Quiet and stable observer.
No need to change or manipulate.
Just floating in this ocean of life.
You Sound of the bell.
